Please do not take Airtel DTH connection. It’s the worst. Bad hardware and still worse people. Thieves and cheats. Following is what I went through in the 7 months that I had the connection.
The installation took place more than 15 days after it was promised.
The person who came for installation tried all means to try and get money for something that was promised to be free. Even the cable used was less than 10 meters. I they do this to everyone where installation happens.
When one of their people came to install someone else’s dish in my apartment, he stole the receiver from my dish. I had to file a police complaint to get the receiver back.
When I asked for some additional channels, I had to wait almost 2 months for getting them as the dish needed realignment and airtel people did not want to come.
The person who finally realigned my dish, did not do it properly and STB kept losing signal. I had to get a paid service done to get it resolved.
Then the STB malfunctioned and had to be replaced. Again paid service for something that lasted just about 6 months.
My connection never came back after the replacement. I was initially promised 48 hours, but finally had to throw away the connection as it never started back.
Several times during calls, I asked for supervisors. My call was transferred, kept on hold for 20 minutes at times and then disconnected without any response. Then the process of calling the support number had to be done.
Finally, when I called to ask for the procedure of disconnection, it took forever for the representative for taking the request and then he disconnected the call without telling me if and how much money will I get back.
So finally, I decided to just chuck the connection with a balance to Rs. 397 and validity of 7 months(as they give 14 months for the price of a year that is about Rs. 4500) still pending on their full package. The cheats on their part never bothered to return my money at all.
SO PLZ. DONT TAKE AIRTEL CONNECTION.
ALSO, I THINK I DID NOT MENTION IT EARLIER, THEIR SUPPORT CENTERS ARE IN SOME REMOTE CORNERS OF CHATTISGARH. THE PEOPLE THEIR CANT SPEAK HINDI PROPERLY, FORGET ABOUT ANY OTHER LANGUAGES(BTW, THEY ADVERTISE SUPPORT IN 10 LANGUAGES)
