Bad Simply BAD - Airtel DTH

I have been a loyal airtel customer for last 10 years. I have 4 airtel mobile and 1 broadband connections in my name. The services provided by airtel mobile are simply excellent and its network is simply awesome. I have been a vocal supporter of airtel and always rubbished the idea of switching to any other provider. I also encouraged several of my family and friends to opt for airtel, and many of them did.


Because of the aforesaid experience and goodwill, I got an Airtel Dish TV installed last month, but that was a wrong decision. I had opted for an airtel HD Recording set top box and its been tough time since it was installed. The set top box hangs many times, channels change very slow and many times it shows various kinds of error messages.


I called up customer care and they were polite enough to guide me for a multi-step re-installation. I did that many times but now it irritates. I already have a couple of more TV sets at home running on Cable connection and they are better off than my personal TV having this airtel dish TV installed. Yesterday, airtel engineers came and did some changes and committed to replace the set top box in a days time. But today, I was told that no set top box is in stock...and I have to Wait.


Now, I am forced to take a decision with a heavy heart to log a Disconnection Request with airtel customer care today # 8355485. I never ever wanted to part ways with airtel which holds a special place in my heart, but it hurts when service is not provided. I would urge airtel to make their airtel dish TV as good as airtel mobile and broadband. I will continue to swear by airtel and will remain a loyal customer. But for Airtel Dish TV, I am sorry.
