Bye bye to Tata Sky

I finally said Bye Bye to Tata Sky. This review is in continuation to my earlier review on Tata Sky. You may like to read their response.


Thanks, I was expecting this reply and I assure you that I will not be renewing your service afterwards. It was a bad experience and I will never forget this.


Tata to Tata Sky and I am sure this message will help others in selecting DTH services.

This is with regards to your e-mail for service request reference no. 1-4760650173. With reference to your email we wish to inform we wish to inform you that you Annual pack were an offer where you have paid for 10 months and we have extended the validity of 12 months. An amount of Rs.2700 has been deducted from the account balance on 08/05/2009. This amount is valid till 08/05/2010 and is not refundable. If in case you opt ’not to use’ the Tata sky services during the period, the validity of the annual pack cannot be renewed.


Again as discussed with you earlier, we still await your confirmation to extend two months free subscription of add-on Lifestyle gold pack on your Tata Sky account.

I am not convinced and do accept your offer. I am not asking for refund on installation and H/W, but the subscription I have paid.


I paid Rs. 2750 for 10 month subscription under a scheme of to free month, similarly Rs. 450 was paid for Gold package for 10 month and this also had two free month. Where as, you have adjusted Rs. 450 in my super saver back, without informing me.


I don’t care about two month consolation offer. I am requesting for the last time to cancel my account and refund my balance amount in subscription.

With reference to your email dated 24/07/2009 03:47:48 PM and the subsequent discussion we had with you on 24/07/09 we understand that the dealer recharged an amount of Rs.2750 and Rs.450 on 07/04/2009 and 08/04/2009. We understand that you have renewed the Annual Super Saver Pack on 08/05/2009. Since Lifestyle gold was not subscribed on annual basis the payment of Rs.450 done on 08/04/2009 was valid till 14/07/2009.


We regret the inconvenience caused in this regard. As committed to you during the conversation we had on 24/07/09, we shall extend the charges of Rs.90 (45*2) that is the subscription fee of the add-on for two months. We request you to confirm the same. Please understand that you still require recharging your account after the completion of the annual pack, therefore we request you to now recharge an amount of Rs.360 (450-90) and write to us. We shall have the annual pack of Lifestyle gold activated for you which is valid for next 365 days.


We have still not received an update on the above information from you. Request you to confirm on the same so that the needful can be done from our end. Further to you query about refund on cancellation, we would like to inform you that as a policy on refund on return of Tata Sky equipment, Set Top boxes once sold are not taken back. Consequently there is no refund on the hardware. Also


the Installation charges are not refundable as it is a one time charge against the service extended for installation of the dish. The ownership of the Digicomp is with you; therefore, there is no refund against cancellation. You will be pleased to note that that you can now receive an updated status on


account balance by logging onto My Tata Sky on https://tatasky.com or by sending an SMS to 56633 from your registered mobile number.
