Hatchback from the Indian carmaker, Tata Tiago has been crafted on a new platform with a design philosophy never seen before in Tata cars. The car recently crossed 50, 000 bookings as waiting period for certain variants has shot up to around four months. The Tiago is offered in both diesel and petrol avatars with prices ranging between Rs 3.2 lakh and Rs 5.5 lakh ( ex-showroom, Delhi) as the current waiting period stands at no less than three months. The former is a 1.05-litre unit that generates 70PS of peak power and a peak torque of 140Nmwhile the latter is a 1.2-litre engine that churns out 85PS and 114Nm. The Tiago delivers a claimed mileage of 23.84kmpl and 27.28kmpl for the petrol and diesel respectively. Tata will soon introduce the AMT version of the Tiago ( around the festive season) ; the petrol AMT will be launched first and the diesel version will come in later. Tata has now increased prices of the Tiago by around Rs 6, 000 ( vs the launch price) , depending on the variant.
