Hi floks, Myself a proud owner of TATA’s brand new car tiago. Fortunatly my car was first to get deliverd in my district. So happy about that. After one week i’m pretty much satisfied with my new Tiago.
I came to notice this car due to its heavy branding campaigns on media, yes! Special thanks to messi. After a few reviews and research me and my brother decided to test drive it. Initially we found it a attractive car. So after some discussions we decided to book Tiago XZ( full option) petrol version. At that time, even after a positive test drive I had a lot of tension about the engine durability and over all performance. After all Tiago is also coming from the same manufacture of Indica.
Anyway after 3 days I got my white tiago delivered. Let me first point out the pro’s and Con’s about this machine.
Pro’s:
1) The new look!
I think TATA had decided to get rid of their old fashioned indica designs. But as a tribute to their old design, TATA didn’t bothered to change the classic honeycomb grill type. But to be frank, it does match with the new front looks.Overall the exterior looks great for a TATA car.
2) Interior:
Let me tell you friends, if I managed get rid of that TATA log from the steering wheel; then you wouldn’t believe it is a car which is manufactured by TATA. Interior design is absolutely high class for 550k car. You will find it far better than its competitors like Celerio and i10.
3) Space:
Tata had managed to give a lot of space inside the car. Enough leg space and head space. So you won’t fell like you are sitting inside a compact hatchback car. There are enough small cabins inside the car and a 250 litter boot space which is deep enough for two large sized trolleys.
4) Features and amenities:
All these amenities for a 5.4 lakhs is not bad and I personally think its a’worth for bucks’ deal.
5) Driving and performance:
Seriously friends, I don’t think I can convey you about the driving and performance by describing it. If you are serious about buying this car; then go for a test drive. Not a big deal! And if you really want to know I will tell you. Its a pretty much comfortable ride and have enough power delivery for compact hatchback.While cornering you could feel more control over the car. Overall good.
Now let talk about the Con’s,
1) The engine could have been more refined. Engine roar is slightly more louder than its competitors. But I think its not a big deal as long as it doesn’t produces more noise.
2) Tiago is not a rough road friendly car, its a more city type car.
3) Mileage:
Tata had promised that tiago will give 23 kmpl mileage. But after 800km running I am getting only 14.5 kmpl( thanks for the digital console) . I hope it will be cleared after couple of services.
Thats all.
As a final verdict, I personally think that Tiago is one of the best family friendly compact hatchback model available in india now. And TATA had managed to provide some best first in class amenities. If you are looking for a stylish, elegant, spacious, best-in-class, comfortable, mid-core performance car. Then Tiago might be able to fulfil your needs.
