Tata Indicom has very bad service

I have a tata indicom walky. I have been receiving bills regulary since the past 7 months and have been making prompt payments.


Things started going wrong when I did not receive the bill for December 2005 which was around Rs650. I made repeated calls to customer care for the bill and in spite of repeated assurances from them I did not receive the bill and so I did not pay. First they cut my outgoing calls, and then after a few days they cut off the incoming also. I kept receiving calls from them asking me for the payment and I kept asking them to send the bill and I would pay only after ensuring that the bill is correct. Finally on January 17, 2005 at 7.30AM they sent a person with the bill for 2 months (Dec and Jan) and the person demanded that I pay the bill amount to him immediately. I refused to pay him (how can I assure myself that he is a Tata Indicom guy) and told him that I will pay at a Tata Indicom center. He started threating me, stating that like I don’t have confidence in him, they have also lost confidence in me that I will pay the money and so I should accompany him to a tata Indicom office immediately (imagine at 7.30 in the morning) and payup. This is nothing but goondaism.


I never imagined that a reputed and rich organization like Tata’s would come down to such cheap tactics and all this after they have insured themselves by cutting off all my incoming and outgoing calls. They don’t care about the history of the customer, whether he has paid promptly till now, and that it is their mistake that the customer did not make the payment.


I have decided to close my Tata connection for ever.


If any of you are planning for a Tata Indicomm walky connection my humble suggestion is to think twice because you might have goondas at your doorstep at early hours.
