If you are someone who cannot bear to watch the F1 races on your tv at home, needs to yell it out wid friends and wants a larger than life pictures of the cars zooming by, then you could look at spending your race afternoon at the tavern.
The place is not very big and that makes the acoustics much better. The projection TV is good and you can get a view of it from anywhere in the bar. And its packed.
Theres a good mix of girls and guys. Most of them are the regulars and they make a hell a lot of noise.
The cheering can sometimes get to your nerves, especially when you see the guys chest pumping and high fiving when schumacher has a problem with his brakes or when barichello is being overtaken!! . Whats with these guyss??
In case your gf is not one of these high fiving types, youre going to have to walk the thin line between finding out why the toyota is locking its tyres and saying yes sweetheart, these guys make a hell a lot of noise, I hate this place..
Otherwise all tables have high bar stools which are a little uncomfortable. The service is prompt. They even managed to serve my friend a black forest for my friend inside the pub. Finally when you are tired of all the jeering and cheering, you can walk out onto the pavements by the sea.
Its a wonderful view and the walk is romantic. Sure way to get your gf on your side again. Id go there again, but maybe not on a raceday.
