Worth a ride

R.S Entertainment’s Taxi Number 9211, directed by Milan Luthria, is a story of a chance encounter between Raghav Shastri (Nana Patekar) and Jai Mittal (John Abraham).

Raghav is a taxi driver but has hidden the fact from his wife (Sonali Kulkarni); she believes he’s an insurance agent. Jai, a philanderer by nature, is on the verge of losing all his millions because his dead father has willed everything in the name of a close associate (Shivaji Satam).

Only one piece of evidence can save Jai but after that lands up in Raghav’s hands, everything goes topsy-turvy. All the proceedings take place in a single day that change the lives of both Raghav and Jai forever, bringing them closer to life’s realities.

This movie brings forth the life style that is very prominent in Mumbai. Also it shows Nana in the comic role after a very long time. He is simply magnificient. John is simply adorable. He very much looks like a spoilt child but with a heart of gold. He puts enormous contribution to the first half where one likes to keep on watching the chemistry between Nana and John.Sonali has scored full marks with her acting and her confrontation with Nana when she learns that he is a taxi driver leaves an impact on viewers. Shivaji Satam is strictly okay. Sameera is good as an Item and simply there for her body .Priyanka cameo in the end adds value to the film.

Factors that add up to the movie are its great music and action scenes shot in a stylish manner that one does not get bored and keeps the pace of second half going. Dialogues and Cinematography are fantastic.

worth a ride!
