I booked a cab on 10.12.2013 from Whitefield to Frazer town for a pick up at 5.45. I got the cab and driver details 30 minutes before the trip.
Exactly at 5.45, I got into the cab and the driver said he said he reset the distance on starting the trip and believed it to be the fact. There are other taxi companies, where they do not have meters and it is pay as per the distance. e.g Fastrack. I believed that to be true. On reaching the destination, the driver charged Rs. 370 saying the distance was 18 kms. The amount looked correct as per the prescribed fare. I asked the driver to give me a bill and he gave me one for Rs. 370 with a distance of 18 kilometers. I paid it and got out. Note that there was no waiting.
After about 10 minutes I got a message for TFS about the meter fare being Rs. 294. On seeing the message, I now feel cheated. This is big time ROBBERY. I feel like taking the matter to the consumer court. I travel by cabs almost 4 days in a week but have never been cheated by anyone like this. (I travel from different parts of the city and hence was not sure of the distance for this particular route).
I have also registered a complaint with TFS, but the overcharge refund would not make me a repeat customer. This was my first experience with TFS and definitely will be the last. But i will definitely make it a point that I will spread the word among my friends and colleagues that they AVOID TFS.
