Watched the latest thriller TE3N which should pe spelled teen ( Hindi) aka 3. well it’s a suspense thriller based out of Kolkata ( remember one such movie) and it stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan.
SPOILERS AHEAD. n old man John Biswas ( Amitabh Bachchan) lost her grand daughter in 1 kidnapping case 8 yrs ago. She died and no one able to find the kidnapper. Cut to present time, 1 more kidnapping happened, same style. Will he able to catch the kidnapper now. And thia time the case is being handled by Ins. Sarita Sarkar ( Vidya Balan) and it also called Father Martin ( Nawazuddin Siddiqui) back to help Sarita since he was the one who involved in the 8 yrs old case of same style as an Inspector. Will these 3 can find the culprit.
Well the movie is made with fine intentions, but some flaws were left, it has its suspense intact, the movie is an official remake of a Korean movie named MONTAGE. Amitabh Bachchan is the life line of this movie, Nawaz an Vidya underplayed their character. I guess its the first movie from its director Ribhu Dasgupta and guess who’s involved- Sujoy Ghosh as a producer, who director Kahaani, one of the best thriller in market. But this movie is bit slow, and I don’t know why somehow I was able to guess the suspense, half of it at the start and rest in between, guess I read too many books : ) though I haven’t watched the original Korean flick. It could be better edited, the life of Kolkata is perfectly pictured, as was done in Kahaani. The locations were nicely shot, had movie was more crisper, it would be better, and the movie has some flaws too.
This movie can be seen once, especially for AB’s fans. I rate this one 3/5.
