Ok..Enough has been written about how good or bad Tees Maar Khan is..
If we get down to criticizing movies, each one of us can write hundreds of points on all movies. What really matters is “Did you have a good time watching the movie” if your unbiased answer is a No, then the movie is a flop for YOU, if your unbiased answer is Yes, then the movie is a HIT.
MY ANSWER IS A YES…
That Farah khan did not make a movie with SRK is not important as how well the content has been treated.
Here are my points on why I thought the movie was good..
1)The makers anyway never promised a path breaking, meaningful movie or that there is a social message. Neither did they promise a Hera Pheri kind of comedy. It is assembled with a lot of jokes that, though being silly on certain occasions does not go over boring.
2)On the contrary to what most people have mentioned, this movie is not lengthy and there has been some great work at the editing table
3)The songs are pretty melodious and do not hamper the flow of the movie
4)Very good performances from Akshay , Akshaye and all the supporting cast
5)Akshaye Khanna is a real fun to watch
6) I had fun watching the brainless comedy and was infact a stress buster in my otherwise tiresome professional life.
7)Farah has done a decent job and is surely not dependent on any particular actor
Some fun scenes:
1)Akshay and Akhsaye Khanna’s scenes, especially the one where he introduces himself as the Hollywood director and the scene where Akhsaye gets into the “skin of the character”
2) Akshay’s entry and the sequence following the same
The movie does have its negatives.
1)There was an emotional quotient in the movie when Akshay unintentionally saves the kids from the village and this probably could have been emphasized a little to get some traction going in the second half
2) Katrina Kaif had nothing great to offer apart from the Sheila Ki Jawani song where she does prove that she has consciously worked on her dancing skills
3) The scenes involving the two Bong(Chatterjee and Mukherjee) policemen are a waste and is definitely not funny So, overall, Tees Maar Khan is a movie that you surely will enjoy if you go without any expectations and just have some decent fun.
For Akshay fans, this sure will be a GREAT watch.
