Technik Motors Sarjapur Worst RE service centre

I always used to get my bike serviced from the company store at Jayanagar until 2009 when Technik Motors opened a unit in ORR, since it is  much closer to my house and an ASC I took my bike there for the first  time in April 2009. As I was preparing for the Himalayan Odessey I asked  them to fit a disc brake kit to my Electra 4S. They took 3 days to fit  the disc brake and when I was called for delivery the 4th day they bike  was not even touched. when I shouted and screamed, they appointed a  mechanic to assemble it. After starting the work they tell me that they  will need to replace the front fork assembly to accommodate the new hubs  and rotors which would cost 3K more - which they should have told me while giving me an estimate. For which I paid them cash on the spot and they sent some  one to get the parts from a stockist.


I arrived at their place at 4:30  PM for taking delivery and I finally got the bike at 9pm. While the disc  brakes were being installed they noticed that they needed a new AXl as  the existing axl could not be used. And since it was 8 pm already they  asked me to come tomorrow. Since I was in need of my bike I told them  that they have to stick to their commitment of delivering the bike today  as it has been 3 days already for a simple job like this. To my  astonishment they pulled out a Enfield 500 which was under service and swapped its front axl  into mine, when I objected they said that if you want the bike take it  with this axl or wait until we get a new one. This attitude not only  shocked me but seemed very un-ethical for an Authorized service centre.


Instead of offering me a solution they pointed a gun. After I took  delivery of the bike and started my journey home I noticed the brake  lights and the head lights were not working as expected. In headlight  mode the instrument panel and the tail light would switch off and only  come on when in parking mode. I went the next day and they were too busy  to take a look. Eventually I gave up trying to fix it after 3 visits to their workshop.


Recently 6th April 2012, I was yet again forced to take my bike to  them for servicing as I had not used my bike for several months and the  bike was not running smoothly as expected, first I called Shivaprasad (service manager) and he offerd to have the bike picked up from my place as the battery was dead. I waited for one whole week and no one turned up. They DIY - I changed the battery with teh help of a Exide technician and got the bike started. I would have gone to  jayanagar branch but since the bike was in a unreliable condition the  long ride was risky. I gave them the bike with several things to be  checked. Among them were the following.


1) Full paid service (oil, filter, brakes tuning etc)


2) Electrical system check up (wires were rusted corroded in areas and connecters were broken)


3) Electric start button and light assembly replacement as it was moving


4) All bulbs to be replaced


5) Gear Box adjustment


6) Air filter box replacement (it was rusted)


7) Fuel and choke pipes


8) Font shock oil leak


I  was given a called today 7th April at 4pm to come and pick up the bike.  I reached their garage at 4:30 and discovered the bike to be in a  dirtier condition than what I had given them. It was neither washed not  polished (yet they charged me for polishing - noticed it in the bill only after  coming home.) The electrical wires which needed to be fixed were not  done, the fuel and choke pipes were not changed and the head light /  instrument panel lighting problem was not fixed.


More over they could not source the air filter box as mine is  chrome. Had they called me I would have gladly waited for another day or  two to get the part.The whole point of going to a ASC is to get the  right parts. I had to followup with the service manager Shivprasad and  chase him for 2.5 hours to get all these little things fixed. More over  the customer service at the office is very poor. They do not attend to  customers as if we are important to them and the service managers take  no responsibility for ensuring that work recorded on the job card is  well done. The excuse they gave me was the mechanic who attended my bike  was on leave and hence the work could not be completed. On which I  asked him as to why he called me for delivery if that was the case?.. To  which they had no answer and instead he simply turned his face and went away to another customer who was waiting for delivery.


The choke air pipe which comes into the top of the carburetor could  not be fitted instead they have put a piece of broom stick into the hole  and blocked it completely. I don’t understand how this will work since  the factory originally installed a tube from a device up under the tank.


For being appointed as a ASC here is where Technik Motors fails to deliver


1) Service Manager doesn’t note down and listen correctly to the customer’s requirement


2) The list of jobs is not checked and verified before delivery if all has been done as requested.


3) They don’t have parts for older bikes like the electra 4S - I asked  for head lamp visor, rubber tie for front fork to secure speedo cable,  air filter box,


4) They are good at doing temporary fixes for things - I feel that this is a bad way to deliver quality


5) They swap parts among bikes if they have to deliver urgently


6)  Bike get scratched and damaged - I have a new scratch on my brake lever  (or it must have been swapped with another bike), and a dent on the air  filter housing.


7) Bike is delivered with newer problems. This time idling was set so  low that the bike started to drag, the front brakes were jammed and it  wouldn’t stop the bike at the speed of 60 kph -- earlier I would be  thrown off my seat if I pressed it... now it does not even move. The  front shock oil leakage still persists even after changing the oil and  seal.


8) They take too much time to service a customer - no attention at time of submission of bike, delivery or billing


9) The ladies sitting in the billing section don.t care about who has come when, two customer got billed and got trials although they came after me.


Never  the less they billed me Rs 2500 this type for this work (1.5k parts and 1k labour). I have wasted  lot of time standing at their unit and trying to get the work done and I  have no more patience to fight with them to rectify the things that  have been undelivered.I feel that they are very unprofessional and the quality of service is very very poor for a Authorized service Center.  Attention to a customer is so bad that while I was waiting two couple came to inquire about a new bike and I am sure they must have successfully discouraged them not to buy the bikes with such attitudes.


Every time I have been there they dont have parts and neither they make and attempt to get them. They swap from other bikes.


Sorry Anand Kumar, but your staff and quality of service sucks.
