I had got my first computer in the year 2007. At that time flash drives had arrived in the market, however a huge majority of people were using CD or DVD’s which are abbreviations for Compact disk and Digital Video Disk. I remember I had got my first USB drive, the same year. It was a 4GB Kingston Data Traveler-1 USB 2.0 bought for 1000 from a Computer expert. Before that, I had never seen a Flag drive myself.
CD’s used to have a fixed storage capacity of 700 Megabytes, and back then you would need a Software like Nero to write to a bootable disk. Or you could use the Microsoft Windows Built-IN Disk write utility, however it would not create a bootable disk, and as a result you will not be able to play mp3 songs in your CD/DVD player. In other words, if you simply copy paste the contents in to the CD drive and burn to disk, the disk so created will not be a bootable disk.
As these disks are already out of market from a long time, there’s not much to say about them but i’ll share with you the CD brands I have used in past.
I actually own a lot of CD’s and DVD’s but most of them are either Moserbaer or Writex, all bought from nearby shops. I don’t think e-Commerce business even existed in 2007? At that time, whenever I went to a local shop to purchase a CD, I would get only Writex or Moserbaer and they both worked very well. So, for me there is no clear winner. Irrespective of the brand, Compact disks are all more or less the same. Same capacity and same speed.

Of course, I have not used all of them. I personally own Writex, Sony, LG and Moserbaer and there is really no difference in performance between them. Sony and LG cost more but it doesn’t mean they are the best.
