Music and Dance is my passion so I love anything revolving around the two.There have been so many films in Bollywood which have featured some brilliant dance numbers and also the people who have made those dance numbers come alive on screen i.e the actors who perform it and the choreographers who come out with those splendid steps for which we remember the songs.I have loved many songs for their choreography in Bollywood.......so I will list a few of my favourites.
10.RANGEELA RE(RANGEELA).....the only thing that I like about URMILA is her dancing abilities.And she was a revelation in Rangeela, she danced beautifully in all the songs, and did justice to the steps given by AHMED KHAN.RANGEELA RE is one of the best choreographed song I have ever seen, the steps were fresh and very tough at the same time but Urmila did a great job.This song was a treat for any dance lover.
9.NIBUDA NIBUDA(HDDCS).......I never liked this song, until I saw its picturisation.The choreography of this song was brilliant......i really don’t know how SAROJ KHAN manages to teach such tough steps inspite of being so fat?(i do not mean to say I in a wrong way)AISHWARYA RAI did this song exteremly well......she brings a certain amount of grace to every dance number she does.Very nicely picturised.
8.QUE SARA SARA(PUKAR).....What happens when two great dancers come together on screen, there is bound to be some magic and this song was exactly that.MADHURI DIXIT and PRABHU DEVA matched STEP-TO-STEP ............to this wonderful tune of RAHMAN.
7.NA JANE KAHA SE AAIYE HAI(CHAALBAAZ)......SRIDEVI always had been a fantastic dancer and what made her dance numbers such a treat was that her expressions were in sync with her steps.This song with SUNNY ROCK DEOL(he cannot dance to save his life)from Chaalbaaz is a must watch for all those who are a fan of her dancing.I loved the choreography of this song.....
6.CHAIYA CHAIYA(DIL SE).......it was difficult for me to include this song coz I hate Sharukh khan like hell, but since this song was sooooo brilliantly chreographed I could not help but include it in the list.This song picturised on top of the train with SHARUKH and MALAIKA dancing to the tune of RAHMAN was unique.FARHA KHAN gets full marks for those memorable dance steps.
5.RADHA KAISE NA JALE(LAGAAN).......I just loved everything about this song......music, costume, colour, ambeince and ofcourse those wonderful dance steps.After a very long time I got to see such good classical dancing, GRACY SINGH was fantastic in this song.Her dance and expressions were just perfect.
4.DOLA RE DOLA(DEVDAS).....this song could well be rated as on of the best chreographed number in hindi cinema.SAROJ KHAN gave some slendid steps to MADHURI DIXIT and AISHWARYA RAI.....and they both performed it brilliantly.
3.PIYA TOSE(GUIDE).......there were some wonderful dances in GUIDE, but my personal favourite is PIYA TOSE.It was beautifully picturised.......and WAHEEDA RAHMAN performed the number very gracefully.
2.HOTHO PE AISE(JEWEL THIEF).....this song had some really tough steps, something which you cannot copy.......and I have heard it was shot in one take.VYJANTIMALA was great dancer......and only she could have carried off those difficult steps with such ease.
1.EK PAL KA JEENA(KAHO NA PYAR HAI).....how can a list of best chreographed songs be complete without a HRITHIK number?This was the song which brought HRITHIK instant fame....coz of the way he danced to FARHA KHAN’S steps.HRITHIK has got a very flexible body and a very good mind-body co-rdination, and that is why he carries of those difficult steps with so much ease.Ek pal ka jeena was a treat.
So these are a few of my favourite dance numbers.......i loved these songs for their wonderful choreography and ofcourse the way those steps were PERFORMED on screen by the actors.
