Will bring smile to your Face

For me a Dance should be able to’express’ one’s personal emotions and thoughts, for doing this in a very innovative manner calls for’Choreography’.

Choreography in Indian Movie’Context’ would be to’sing’ while you are moving or dancing. This means that individual is into the song and also able to express himself a whole lot better.

I would like to put forward some my favourite’Choreographed’ songs in Indian Cinema, they are not necessarily out and out Dance numbers, but they definately put a smile on my face.

a) Johny Mera Naam(Pal Bhar ke Liye)

I love all songs choreographed by Vijay Anand, He was one of the finest directors we had and the songs that he use to picturise/choreograph where so warm and touching.

This particular song had such long and continuous’takes’, with one window opening after another, the inimitable Devsaab appearing in every window with his smile and you keep watching with undivided attention and feel bad when Hema Malini closes those windows on him.  Give an’Applause’ here!

Vijay Anand had a WAY to picturise his songs.so sad this director is forgotten.

b) Tere Ghar Ke Samne(Dil Ka Bhawar Kare Pukar)

Again Goldie(Vijay Anand) picturised this song with Devsaab and Cutest Nutanji

This Guy has such a flair for Romance and made it look so enchanting in that

small cramped area of KutubMinar.

Goldie even put Nutanji in Devsaab’s Whisky Glass in those Days.

I will need another topic to cover Vijay Anand’s songs in Guide etc so we will move ahead:)

c) Anand(Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli)

I dont know whom to give credit for this song, Rajesh Khanna or Hrishikesh Mukherji. But I feel Rajesh Khanna, so simple, so cute, so down to earth, Just picking up his chappels and walking in soft sands on a Mumbai Chaupatty/Beach. Showing us all that Zindagi is a Paheli:) but take it in your stride and move on. just like Rajesh Khanna did in this song .

Can any of present generation hero project such innocence on screen since

this is’PUB’ generation and Saif Ali Khan even though Bengali looks so

’Out of Character’ when wears Dhoti Kurta and plays that Guitar in Parineeta?

d) Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar(Pehla Nasha)

Such a Romantic song, Farah Khan gave Choreography a complete new meaning in Indian Cinema, This was I think the first’Slow-Motion’ song picturised. I give full credit to Jatin Lalit’s super music and Farah Khan’s creative mind.

Actually my Dil Goes ummmm when I see this song

Farah Khan brought College Girls and’acche Khaandan’ ke Girls to Dance behind the pretty looking Heroines and eventually these girls made it their career:) earlier we use to see just some Fat Girls dancing behind Madhuri.

e) Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani(Title song)

Again Farah Khan gave us a brand outlook to look at India’s problems in such a humorous and lovely way in this song.

Kabhi Naye Packet mein Beche. tumko cheej Purani:) look at SRK you will definately smile .

f) Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa(The DON Song sequence)

Farah Khan . made a gem out of this situation where the owner of Chinatown Bar is getting all Gunda’s as his customers, throwing glasses(if they dont like the song) HILARIOUS Goga Kapoor starts crying in the end of this song:) and says.

Yeh song nahi . Apun Ke Life Ka Story .

g) Lakshya(Mai Aisa Kyon Hoon)

Was that a Rubber dancing:) was my reaction and I was so in Awe seeing the quality of Choregraphy by PrabhuDeva and Hrithik’s performance . Hats Off!

h) Ghulam(Aati Kya Khandala)

Rani has never smiled the way she did in this song she is still known as Khandala girl:) Aamir as always entered this character like water in milk . and his Matchstick thing was so amazing and the laughing Buddha that that that was Hilarious Kaun Ladki nahi aayegi Khandala after such song, Just I dont know who the choreographer is for this amazing song

As I said Guys. I have not picked some complete Dance numbers but I hope you must have liked the warmth, its story narration, great  expressions from the above mentioned songs.
