Was getting bored at night. Wanted to watch a movie. So while downloading something I thought I’d review some of them
Thought my "top ten movie" would be slightly "run of the mill" with the usual favourites and nothing that one could add(not that I claim to breathe some fresh air here). So here’s my shot at the best storytellers of time.
1. Martin Scorsese: Easily one of the most influential filmmakers of our time. Did you ever think that an almost annoying and yet charismatic boy saving his love interest in an epic tragedy would ever reach greatness?
Say what you want but Leonardo isn’t just great eye candy. The guy’s a great actor and thanks to Martin who took him there. Surely Robert De Niro would credit MS (Martin Sc) for achieving the greatness that he has as a result of the film’s he been in.

2. Gus Van Sant- The guy is a better storyteller. He isn’t the weird camera angles, CGI, visually brilliant director but he made stories look so beautiful. And also made one of my best films ever, Good Will Hunting! Liked Finding forrestor as well that stared another Icon
Haven’t seen Milk yet but kind of get scared to say that I looking forward to the film... just the film ;)
3. Stephen Soderberg - The guy had a unique style of films. Got lost somewhere and hardly heard of. Used the whole hand held motion extensively and I guess that brought the realism in his films. Gritty and nicely narrated stories his films were. Films known for Traffic, Ocean’s Eleven and Erin Brockwhich
4. Tony Scott - For those who don’t know him, he’s the one who directed Top Gun. Another classic, a film that made every Kid like me want to grow up to be that F-16 pilot with his very own Super bike. Though that’s not my best one.
This guy has made Gene Hackman the legend that he is and brought the best in him

I’ve loved the whole "CIA, US Govt., Spies, morality" stuff Hollywood occasionally dishes out. Yup its fair to say that the guy needed to be a little more consistent.
4. Ridley Scott - Not sure how to describe this one. This one is for Movies below

Black hawk down
5. Christopher Nolan- Probably me just riding the Dark Knight wave. But if one were to review him Ex-the Joker, he’s been pretty Good, maybe not great but someone who’s carved his own space with movies such as Memento and Batman Begins.
And surely when you have one of the most commercially successful films under your belt, you do deserve the "top...ever list"
6. Quentin Tarantino: The film choices should speak for themselves

Kill Bill... you get it... He has to be on your list
7. Clint EastWood: This one’s for Million Dollar Baby, Flag of our fathers, Letters from Iwo Jima and MysticRiver. A legend. He’s to be respected for the films he’s made and not the box office as it would fall short to measure the greatness of this movie Icon.
8. Michael Bay: Your quintessential "masala", "box office sell out" filmmaker. He made films that have appealed to the masses and it’s nice to have guys like him around along the brilliance of the names mentioned above.

9. Jerry Bruckheimer - Yeah I know he isn’t a director. But his movies have always been up there in the commercial arena. You could skip reviews to watch his films. There’s the usual big budget, adrenaline rush to his films. Just an entertainer par excellence. Forget the best film list as its way too long.
10. Steven Spielberg: Save the best for the last! Probably the most influential filmmakers of all time. Movie connoisseurs would rate him second to Hitchcock. I haven’t seen a single film of Hitchcock so for me SS’s the greatest

Edit: Notable mention- Ron Howard for movies like Cindrella man, Beautiful Mind, Da Vinci Code(yeah yeah heard it b4 that the movie ain’t better than the book)
