OK, so I like these movies so much that I choose not to rank them... But here they are, in any order you choose to see them in...
Dil Chahta Hai... A trendsetter of sorts... A funny take on the new urbanism. All characters were so well etched. No melodrama, and Farhan Akhtar is in full form
Lagaan. Ofcourse, the list would not be complete without this classic. Aamir Khan proved that you don’t need foreign locales and trendy outfits to prove your point. It is the simply and heatwarming story of the human spirit, and for the first time, Aamir dressed in his dhoti is as sexy and respectable as any other Hrithik Roshan.
Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. OK, I know a lot of you will disagree with this movie being on the list, and although it isn;t revolutionary in any respect, Aditya Chopra carried it off like a master. It was one of the first movies of its types after Hum Apke Hain Koun, and it definitely touched me..
Andaz Apna Apna. Another Aamir Khan classic. Not revolutionary in any way, but fun filled from the beginning to the end. Paresh Rawal excels in a comirole. Loveable, thoroughly.
Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke. A wonderful cute story that I watched as a kid. I loved every bit of it..Mahesh Bhatt definitely knows how to bring out laughter in the most mundane situations. Funny how most of the movies I like have Aamir Khan in them..:)
Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander. Again, good movie of the human spirit. College is something that we have all gone through, and this movie nicely portrays the psyche of a young person, his infatuations and how he realizes the beauty of the simplicity around him.
Ok, since I’m not very old, I don’t have a very good knowledge of older movies, but just a smaller list of other good movies: Moksha, Raju Ban gaya gentleman, Qayamat se qayamat tak, Dil hai ki maanta nahin.
