I would like to rate here top 10 bollywood director here. I think naming 10 top director will be a tough task since we all(most of us) know that there aren’t many.
(1) Guru Dutt-- Kagaj ke phool, Pyasa, and Saaheb bewi aur gulam.
comments- well ahead of it’s time
(2) Satyajeet Ray---Pather panchali, shatranj ke khiladi, Charulata and AAgantuk.
Comments- Best director that india has ever produced
(3) Hrishikesh mukherjee-- Anand, Golmaal, Bemisaal, mili and chupke chupke.
(4) Shekhar kapoor-- Bandit Queen, Elizabeth
(5) Maniratnam-- Roja, Bombay
(6)Sanjay leela bhansali--- Hum dil de chuke sanam, Black (even though he copied some of the scenes from hollywood but still good enough)
(7) Shyam benegal
(8) Govind Nihlani
Who else ? can’t think of any ..most of the other directors in bollywood are copycats ...including ramgopal verma.
