!~A musical tribute to 2005~!

Its just 3 days for 2005 to say sayonara, 2006 is about to come and it is promising a lot of good music in the coming time(good for music lovers). Year 2005 has been a mixed bag of different kind of music; be it slow romantic numbers or dance numbers; though few songs grabbed to top place rapidly, they come down with the same pace; reason being different kind of music(read- good music) has released frequently in 2005.

1. Aaashiq banaya aapne(Title song):

Singers: Himesh Reshammiya, Shreya Ghoshal

Music: Himesh Reshammiya

Undoubtedly the number 1 song of the year 2005; “Aashiq banaya aapne” has been the most selling album of this year. Himesh Reshammiya has been awesome in giving some new type of compositions to music lovers, more importantly he has sung this song very well and the “Macho-man” kind of voice has suited the song as well. A small portion of song is sung by Shreya Ghoshal and she has sung it fabulously.

Another hit/lovely song of the album: Aapki kashish ……

2. Agar tum mil jao(Zeher):

Singers: Shreya Ghoshal

Music: Anu Malik

Every time I listen to a new Shreya Ghoshal, I try to imagine the same song to perfection and I never find any difference in Shreya and perfection. It’s very hard to describe this young talent, she sings meticulously; and this song is one perfect example of the perfectionist. Anu Malik’s composition pleases to ear; overall a good song.

Another hit/lovely song of the album: Woh lamhe ……

3. Piyu bole(Parineeta):

Singers: Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal

Music: Shantanu Moitra

The most demanding pair of current singers Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal again came into limelight by singing this romantic melody. Shantanu Moitra has shown that he could have been the best choice for “Parineeta”.

Another hit/lovely song of the album: Kaisi paheli ……

4. Just chill(Maine pyar kyun kiya):

Singers: Sonu Nigam, Jayesh Gandhi, Amrita

Music: Himesh Reshammiya

Another dance number from Himesh Reshammiya and it’s another hit. The 29 year old music director is having a good time there in bollywood. Sonu Nigam has provided the right energy level to the song; Amrita and Jayesh have supported it well.

5. Kajra re(Bunty aur Babli):

Singers: Alisha Chinoy, Shankar Mahadevan, Javed Ali

Music: Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy

Although lyricist Gulzar commented out that “his songs are rocking the 3-wheelers all over the nation”; this song can be said the biggest dance number of this year. Alisha Chinoy don’t sing much these days, but whenever she sings, she always gives her best. She has been the “Gaane ki jaan” for this song.

Another hit/lovely song of the album: Chhup chhup ke ……

6. Kyon ki itna pyar(Kyon ki):

Singers: Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik

Music: Himesh Reshammiya

Another hit music by Himesh Reshammiya; this time with a bit of “Tere Naam” flavor. Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik seem perfect choice for the song and have sung the song very well.

Another hit/lovely song of the album: Dil keh raha hai ……

7. Dus bahane(Dus):

Singers: Kay kay, Shaan

Music: Vishal-Shekhar

Popularity of this song can be judged from the fact that “Hey now … hey now” was probably the most famous caller tune of 2005. Kay Kay and Shaan once again have sung a song together and have given a hit once again; Vishal-Shekhar’s music did the entire trick.

8. Yaara rab(Socha na tha):

Singers: Sonu Nigam, Sanjeevani

Music: Sandesh Shandilya

A soft romantic song from the talented music director Sandesh Shandilya; Sonu Nigam and Sanjeevani(did her debut with Kareeb – Chori chori) have sung the song advantageously; sound of the flute makes this song more pleasing to ears.

9. Naam ada likhna(Yahaan):

Singers: Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal

Music: Shantanu Moitra

Truly speaking I didn’t like many songs sung by Shaan, but Shaan has changed a lot during last 2 years and now it’s a different story altogether. Both the singers have given the right smoothness that this song deserves; in all a good romantic song.

10. Mummy ko nahin hai pata(Chocolate):

Singers: Sunidhi Chauhan

Music: Pritam

Another good song from Sunidhi Chauhan and this time it’s with “Dhol beats” of Pritam. The song is a complete dance number and for surely can make your feet moving.

I have tried to put up the top 10 songs of the year, however year 2005 has been so good for music that its difficult to choose only 10 songs; here are few songs that deserve a place there in top 10.

Tujhe dekh dekh jagna(Kalyug – Rahat Fateh Ali Khan)

Chori chori chupke se(Lucky – Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik)

Dheere Jalna(Paheli – Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal)

Aashayein(Iqbaal – Kay Kay)

Saara jahan kahe ishq hai jhootha(Ek khiladi ek haseena – Kunal Ganjawala, Sunidhi Chauhan)

Le chalein(My brother Nikhil – Kay Kay)

Tauba tauba(Kaal – Sonu Nigam, Kunal Ganjawala, Sunidhi Chauhan)

Salaam namaste(Title song - Kunal Ganjawala, Vasundhara Das)
