Music is a great way of expressing emotions…so if you’re trying to impress your object of desire why don’t you sing her a song? Here’s some help in choosing this year’s best songs…accompanied by possible responses! I had been waiting to write this revu for ages …and now that we have approached the end of the year, I can entertain you all with my line up of the top 10 songs of 2005. The year has had it ups and downs, just like every other year. Music was filled with smooth honeyed tracks, and fast remixes. Fusion music was also very popular this year. Brace yourselves everyone, this is gonna be one amazing ride(in no particular order)!:P

:10: Dus bahaane
I just thought the number would go well with the song:D. This is the title track of the movie…DUS(!), music composed by Vishal-Shekar. This is an amazingly catchy and danceable tune, which rocked the charts for ages. I’ll leave it to you to decide whether that its success was due to the actual song, or Abhishek’s sexy hip thrusting? *–you know this one’s dedicated to you Chandra;) *And if you haven’t heard it at all then you must be totally insane, unless you had been locked up in a tv-less attic for the latter part of the year. But come on, even Cinderella managed to escape to the ball…so go listen to the track!
- Ladka: Dus bahaane karke legaye dillll…
Ladki: ooo aapka bank balance kitna hai?
kuch der baad…
Ladka: 0 bahaane karke legaye paise…

:9: Kajra Re
The song in which the father-son combo danced together; the song in which Aishwaria made a rather unexpected comeback to Bollywood; the song which my mum fell asleep to when we were watching the movie; and the song which I became addicted to! Taken from the movie Bunty aur Babli, music composed by those sangeet geniuses – Shankar Ehsaan Loy.
- Ladka: Kajra re, kajra re, tere kaare kaare naina…
Ladki: Pata hai idiot, maine kaajal lagaaya hai…tujhe bhi lagaana hai kyaa?

:8: Khalish Si Hai
It was hard to choose just one song from the whole Chocolate album…but I finally chose this one because I really like that mysterious, unfathomable feeling about the chorus music. Anyone who’s watched the movie will know that it is the sound of the jingle they compose, and the basis for a very long-winding and confusing tale! Music for this album is created by Pritham, another music director who smelt sweet success this year.
- Ladka: Hai ek saaya jidhar dekhoon, jahaa dekhoon jaane kyun…
Ladki: Er…I think you need to see a psychiatrist.

:7: Saara Jahaan Kahe Ishq Hai Jhoota
What do you get when you mix some fabulicious music, teamed up with lots of Hinglish lyrics and a crazy video in a boxing ring? Answer: A wicked song! This ones from Ek Haseena Ek Khiladi(I changed the order of the title for a reason:P), music yet again by Pritham. The raps in the middle are really dodgy though. A word of advice: Don’t pay too much attention to them:P You can tell Fardeen and Koena did in the film!
- Ladka: saara jahaan kahe ishq hai jhoota, saare jahaan rahe ishq se roota…
Ladki: To mujhse ishq kyun kar rahe ho duffer?

:6: Bas Ek Zara
This is a really new track, from the movie Anjaan. There’s something about the music and the lyrics that makes me want to listen to this song repeatedly. Its quite a slow, unlike most of my other picks! The other song from this movie(yes, there are only two) is really nice too – Gum Shuda Chain.
- Ladka: Bas ek zara kaha tum maano, haske mujhe yuna dekha karo…
Ladki: hasoongi nahi to kyaa karoo…kabhi apna shakal dekha hai aine mein? Bilkul joker lagta hai!

:5: Piya Bole
Parineeta was such a beautifully directed film, and I will always remember the flurry of emotions is had packed into it – sweet longing, livid hatred, emerald-eyed envy and full-fledged love to name a few. This duet is exceptionally enchanting, rendered with rich and poetic https://lyrics. Plus this song is blessed by the angelic voice of Shreya Ghoshal and the classic one of Sonu Nigam.:)
- Ladka: piya bole, piyu bole, kyaa yeh bole jaanu na
Ladki: Main bhi nahi jaanti…par mere Papaji ke paas tumhare liye zaroor javaab hoga!

:4: Socha Na Tha
This film will always remain close to my heart, because it is chooo chweet! I’ve realised that it’s a bad idea to try and narrate the storyline to a friend, because they get so confused. But this song pretty much sums up the whole mood of the film! That’s some achievement, and the award goes to Sandesh Sandilya for the music. Ayesha Takia was brilliant in this film, and so was newcomer Abhay Deol.
- Ladka: Kabhi dil ke kareeb tumhe mere naseeb yun laayenge, socha na tha…
Ladki: How sweet…lekin mujhe lagta hai ki naseeb ka system crash ho gaya, kyunki tumse pehle Rahul, Nikhil, Sameer, Raj, Saahil aur Rohit ne bhi mujhse aisa hi kuch kahaa!

:3: Aashiq Banaaya Aapne
This film featuring every music directors dream mascot: Emraan Hashmi! So was it is big surprise that the album was such a big hit? My favourite song definitely has to be the title track, I think the verses are beautifully worded. According to you mood, you can listen to either the original version, or the remix. Both of them are great in their own ways…but I don’t think the same can be said about the film!
- Ladka: Aashiq banaaya aapne…
Ladki: Achcha? Oh I’m so sorry…main to aapko bhaiyaa banaane waali thi!
