STAR so near and dear ..

Now it time to write about a STAR whose been my IDOL and remain IDOL forever.

THE BIG B - Amitabh Bachchan

BEFORE

The Star was born on 11th October 1942 in Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh. His father was a great poet, Shri Harivanshrai Bachchan, who did make us learn the poetry in our school days ( it was a struggle in those days). The LAMBU (Big B) fell in love with MILI ( Jaya) and they have two children, Shweta and Abhishek. Abhishek is again a struggling star to meet his fathers and mothers talent.

I still believe Big B, is not a lucky star who made his career because of his looks, but by the talent and commitment. He was never a handsome looking one in the whole career. But now it makes him look much better with the bread and costumes he choose.

IN BOLLYWOOD

His debut film was Saat Hindustani. This film was not a great film for him , that was time when all the big talent ruled the screen, like Sunil Dutt, Dilip Kumar , Shammi and so... He refused to give up and waited till he got the right opening in the Zanjeer. The film was a run away success, after that he did HITs after HITs , never looked back and he is one the most talented actor in India and world.

MY TEN COUNTS

It’s indeed difficult to pick and choose the 10 from so many good movies.

ABHIMAAN(1973)

This was a story told by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, man who feel insecure because of his wife’s success in the same field. This was one of the real time story , and Big B and Jaya did an excellent performance. It was their first on screen Success !!!. The song made the movie a big HIT of all times.

MILI

This is a movie of a girl by name MILI , played by mischievous JAYA, who became lady love of his real life later. B character who hates the society because the circumstances. This is a touching movie with all the ingredients to make it a good movie. The songs are good melody...

DEEWAR(1975)

This was the start of ANGRY YOUNG man character, this was a run away success. It had a good star line and this was B’s undoubtedly the best of all times. This great story told by YASH CHOPRA depicted the love of a son for this mother and brother. It tells u the real story of hardship and the circumstances that makes peeps , that mold them in life.

CHUPKE CHUPKE(1975)

This again from the stable of Hrishikesh Mukherjee, he is a Botany professor, this movie is a must see movie for the reason , its simple and mind blowing. It makes you laugh and think at the same time. This movie had big star line with , DHARAM, SHARMILA, JAYA, OMPRAKASH. And this will be one of the best comedy movies of all time. Do read my review on the same , will find more about the movie.

SHOLAY (1975)

This a movie if u have not seen, you have wasted half your life. It was told B’s asked for Gabbars role and was denied the same. This is one of the movies I like you to watch with your family and enjoy, each and every scene is done with perfection.

Do read my review on SHOLAY and u decide if I am wrong ...

ANAND

B played a role of sincere doctor who treats the patients with love and care. But this film the credit went to Rajesh Khanna for his excellent performance, for his simple way he meets the difficulties in life and knowing his days are counted. The best part of the movie was the touching and meaningful songs.

DON(1978)

This is a double role done by B and again a under world story. The songs are all time favorites, and depicts the Bombay Bhaiya done with perfection. A film worth watching !!!

SHAKTI(1982)

Said so after watching the film, an Indian found difficult to come out of the FATHER and SON character, this was done by the great DILIP KUMAR and B. I do remember the last scene were the son is shoot dead by his loyal father, it did made me cry and do believe after all this years, this is the most touching scene I have seen in the whole Bollywood. This was directed by Ramesh Sippy.

YAARANA

This can be called a film on friendship and love. B’s dance steps were worth praise and glory. Do watch the character of a illiterate and it makes laugh, the first he lands in the town. This also one of the best movies in his career. Watch with your family and dear ones.

AGNEEPATH (1990)

This won him the all the pomp and glory. Depicted as a son of a schoolmaster, Vijay ( the notable think is B liked this name the most , for his roles he choose) grows up to become the biggest underworld don of his times. This performance got him the National Award for him. Excellent film....directed by Mukul Anand.

ENDING NOTE

I know I haven’t been sincere to my mind , for I couldn’t all the movies I like B’s acted. There are films like Silsila, Trishul, Muqaddar ka Sikandar, Kala Patthar, Dostana, Laawaris, Naseeb, Satte pe Satta, Andhaa Kanoon, Aakhri Raasta, Khuda Ghawa, Hum and recent releases like the AKS , Ankhen and Kaante. The much awaited Armaan he does a decent role.

He is the only actor in Bollywood who after all the years of success is still ruling the silver screen. The actors who started at his time is having a happy family life, retired life from the industry.
