O P Nayyar, the name spells magic.Like Bappi Lahiri, he has also done few films, but whatever he made the most of it. I upto now remembered him as a very tall fair person donning a black hat always, I don’t know why.may be he is bald inside or may be a style statement.but some time back I heard one of his interviews and I was stunned.This man lives alone and either left himself or thrown out by his family one night many years ago, left all his property and money to them and started life afresh few months later with the help of a friend.This happened due to alcohol or something else which he did not made clear, only said’It was my own fault, but felt deeply when left and became spiritual".I find it extremely amazing, a person who gave such wonderful music, his own life having sad overtones, very sad.but then life surprises you and you grow up.
Almost all of his songs are great, but I will try to take out Ten Best.
1.Babuji dheere chalna, pyar mein jara sambhalna.from AAR PAR.
2.Yeh lo main hari piya.from AAR PAR.Both of the songs are sung by Geeta Dutt.
3.Aankhon hi aankhon mein ishara ho gaya, baithe baithe jeevan ka.from CID.Wow! what a song.
4.Kahin pe nigahen kahin pe nishana.from CID.Singer Shamshad Begum.He made very naughty songs, most of them.
5.Aaiye meherbaan.from HOWRAH BRIDGE.Picturised on Madhubala.by having a look at this song, you can say neither any actress nor any singer is so good these days.All of them copy oldies.Madhuri Dixit copies so many old actresses.
6.Taarif karun kya uski jisne tumhe banaya.from KASHMIR KI KALI.Sung by Mohammed Rafi.
7.**Jaiye aap kahan jayenge.from MERE SANAM.
8.Jaane kahan mera jigar gaya ji, abhi to idhar tha, kidhar gaya ji, kahin dar ke mare chuha to nahin ban gaya.from **MR. & Mrs. 55.This song reminds me of my ragging days when we were made to sing this song during ragging, although this is a very funny song, but we were told we have to sing in romantic overtones:)
9.Maang ke saath tumhara, maine mang liya hai sansar.from NAYA DAUR.
10.Aanchal mein saja lena.from PHIR WOHI DIL LAYA HOON.Its a sentimental song.
