Advertisements are part and parcel of watching television. Though ads are a time for couch potatoes like me start channel surfing, some of the ads make me take notice I even enjoy some of these ads more than the program I am watching.
My AD top 10 is: *(in random order)
1) Kya Swaad Hai Zindagi Ka: Cadbury Milk Chocolate: Cadbury have often produced award winning ads. This campaign of theirs featured a host of very well made ads. There was one in which a man runs after the departing bus of his beloved only to give her a Cadbury Chocolate.
There was another cricket based ad under this campaign in which the batsmen hits a 6 off the last ball and her girlfriend dances with a Cadbury Chocolate in her hand. Even the latest Amitabh Bachhan Cadbury campaign is quite good.
2)Chooriyan Khan Khan baje.: Reliance India Mobile : This is one of the longest television ads and the background music and the jingle(song actually) are quite good. The *visual affect is to emphasize the importance of communication in India. **Relevant and good
3)The TVS Group AD: This is the TVS Automobiles group ad and features a beautiful visual of a child riding a horse on a beautiful beach. The focus is on the TVS insignia(the horse) and then it shifts to various TVS products and their relevance to the customers.
4)Adityae Namo Namaha.Aditya Birla Group: One of my favourite ads, it features melodious chanting of mantras and explains the relevance of the sun as the dispeller of darkness. The sun is the symbol of the company.
5)The Maruti Happy Family: A Dancing sardarji and his little son light up the screen with their pure joy. The son is really cute and expressive and so is the ad.
6)You and I.in this beautiful world: Hutch Mobile: One of my all time favorites, this one has a small dog following a small boy everywhere he goes. Beautifully shot in lush green fields, old buildings, on a swing and even in the school. The dog is the faithful Hutch Network which follows you everywhere.
7)Airtel .AR RAHMAN: The tune of the ad is Airtel’s official logo music and one of the most popular ringtones in India. AR Rahman is joined by a host of musicians who add to his original tune while travelling to a concert. The ad is quite catchy and had immediate affect.
8) Sach Dikhate Hain Ham NDTV India: This ad is my current favorite and portrays the importance of showing truth in the media. It is made in a manner which arouses patriotism. The punchline. Zuban Par Sach, Dil mein India.NDTV India * is very moving.
9)Chevrolet Optra No words spoken, no mention of the car specifications but still the affect of the ad is mesemerizing. The ad shows visuals of the car from all sides on the interior and the exterior with a very beautiful tune. I am Luxry.I am Optra.
10)Dukh Ki Batein, Sukh ki Batein.:Indian Television Fratenity: This is perhaps the only ad which is actually an excellent music video. It features the small screen stars of the most popular television series: *Office Office, MTV Bakra( all vj’s), Saans, Kyonki Saas., Kahani Ghar ., Close up antakshari, Astitva.and so on.
It cuts across tv channels and has even been shown as a music video on MTV and [V].
