My choices ......(may be urs..)

Ad films..really a lot of thinking goes into it....its very very simple and easy to sit and write ’’this is good , this is really bad and how such a crap thing can be ever made’’...but when it is our turn ..it really takes everything out of us..but who knows still we may fail to deliver....


Toughest art is making a movie which is a combo of all art...(stolen from Suresh’s profile hope he wont mind...but I also feel the same since he had said it already in MS I had to mention it...) but  add making is a tougher job even compared to movies considering the time span(just in seconds or very few minutes)....(BPL jaisaaa tougher than the toughest…)


but these days a new format is being followed to cover up some of the shortcomings....i.e.., usage of stars....(cinema and sportstars(mostly cricketers)) r nowadays busy in ad film making (even we have lots of hot topic on cricketers like sachin getting busy in adds...but thats different story altogether...))


these stars make up for most of the things...but since this has become a trend ...usage of stars have become a mandatory thing and people go for further creativity to get distinguished from others…


so enough on general views..let me go to my choices..these which r following r random pickings which had attracted me..no time span..no order..and no special criteria for selection ..so whichever came to mind ...im putting it ..thats it...(so if  urs is not here …I know u wont mind…)


M-SEAL ADS:


M -Seal adds r always made gr8...


the one in which son getting his will  corrected from his dying father ...later gets  fooled by a water pipe leakage...simply superb ad....(Explaining the viewers the significance of a water pipe seal!!!!)


Even the new one is good .an office going guy in attempt to stop the leakage of water from the tap ..uses his hanky, tie..and ultimately ends up with the  maid’s sareee…the picturization  is so good that  though it look like  vulgar when said ..one wud definitely laugh on seeing it….


Cadbury’s Diary milk:


I like the jingle…’’aasaigal niraasai aanadhe kanavun kai nazhuvi ponadhe’’ a girl failing in her attempts to dance properly then gets up to do the same movement after taking the choclate which gives her plenty of confidence..and finally she does it…the best part I love in it is the jingle..whenever im depressed its like encoraging type…(though I don’t readily go for dairymilk in a sad mood….)


Coke ad:


Out of the adds of coke(infact all soft drinks ads) the best to my mind is the Aamirs add where he goes to a shop asking for ’’thanda’’…’’abbe thoo aadmi hai kya andaaaa’’ the dialogues and their delivery were fantastic in this ad…no need to say abt aamirs talents and all….


This add takes a different step…giving coke a different form…coke bole tho thanda…the concept is admirable…and it’s a good marketing move too….


Polo ad:


Polo ad ..a mint with the whole(no ’’w’’)…batsmen carrying a bat with a whole(no ’’w’’)….takes the ball to the boundary and just releasing it  over the boundary line for a six …with the fielders running behind him…though many a times I thought wat it has to do with the mint…(may be the creativity of the batsmen to play with a bat having whole(no ’’w’’) is due to the polo mint which he took)..anyways I like the add for it made me laugh…..


Hutch:


The boy and his Pet dog(the series of adds) r marvelous category ads….concept wise they r superb…exactly depicting the message wat the company wants to say to their customers to get their confidence….and well made add too…


(i heard that the usage of  dog has created problem to the company....but thats different...anybody having  any idea on this issue plz throw some light on it...)


BSNL:


BSNL cell one …chotti si duniyaaaa(pooja beti ad)..again a nice ad with a good concept….all these formalities of  groom’s family members visiting brides home to see her..then followed by the groom himself..and all those idiotic things r coolly eliminated with the help of the cellone phone …mom says the name of the girl…the son says im ready for the marriage..as simple as that…..


MENTOS FRESH MINT:


’’Dimaag ki bathi jalade’’…nice caption isnt it?it attracted me at  the very first time itself…the trainer training his trainees..with a guy( a big boy…may be to differentiate from others)  goes always off target..( football , cricket.., )then the trainer  takes a mint …then as per the caption  trainer’s dimmaag ki bathi jalthaa hai…..he takes him to circus where he succeeds in throwing (single throw)a bunch of  knifes on a woman target in which none should touch her….…sometimes I use to think how these people think ….thinking process is a different art …it doesn’t come to everybody as such..right???(definitely not to me….)


INDICA V2:


’’ Must be true ad’’ a guy who always says lie or confused guy who doesn’t have any idea on wat he says….gets the punishment (gets a punch on his face everytime he says something)....finally says abt the qualities of indicav2…but this time no puch on his face....then comes to a conclusion that ’’mustbe true….’’ And the caption MORE CAR PER CAR…is also catchy…


Tata cars r not for the royal people..these r all for people who r normal indian rich people who can afford to buy a car only once in a lifetime…hence they always look for cars which has optimum proportion of all features like style..comfort..look…price…so to attract those kind of people….i don’t think no better add can be made…..


ARISTROCAT :


This one is a sexy ad (u take it in any sense…)…A guy sitting in Bar taking aristrocat whisky…he feels with every sip  the girl sitting in the bar getting nude one step… any alcohol consumer wud want to have the same feeling after taking any drink..ultimately that’s why they take it…. the ad is so well made that when  u see it u wont find any vulgarity  ..unless u r against  sharaab..but  im sure that was the best ad in the liquor brands…….


EYE BANK ASSOCIATION:


Aishwaryaa’s eye bank association add….’’ U r looking into the green eyes of one of the most beautiful woman in the world’’ wat a voice…to me it’s the best add made in service types categories for the government institution..(wat do we call NGO am I right????)…I heard that after the release of that add ..the eye bank association got registrations for eyedonations from 50000 indian citizens in a very short period….(courtesy : Trishaas interview in Aaaviii {don’t try too hard it’s a tamil magazine that too short form…}Again this add is an example of star value ….).

Baleno car(’’but the meeting wasn’t’’)


Reliance-recent ad(’’morning to noon, noon to fullmoon wat honeymoon’’)
