Jingles All The Way!:Top Ten Commercials

I was going through some of the reviews on MS about Best TV commercials in India, and then I thought to pen down this one over TV commercials with Best Jingles those are still remembered.

Here are Top Ten Commercials with Jingles aired on Indian Television that captured hearts!

10.Tan ki Shakti Mann Ki Shakti.Bourn-Vita: The jingle was so famous that all the moms were really obsessed with Health Drinks. The commercial really gave a’Boost’ to health drink market.

9.Zandu Balm.Zandu Balm: Well not really famous in TV world, this commercial rocked the Radios in homes, with the Jingle famous among school boys and girls.

8.Pan Parag.Pan Masala.Pan Parag: Remember Jalal Agha taking Pan Parag sachets from his coat in this commercial. It had a very catchy jingle(A cause of worry for Manikchand, I presume thats why they turned to Filmfare Awards:)

7.Karram-Kurram.Lijjat Papad: The Rabbit and the family and a bunch of Lijjat fried papad, not a great advt. to see, however the’Kurram Karram’ really justified the crunchy test of Lijjat Papad!

6.Videocon Washing Machine. Not really a catchy jingle, although it manages to secure a spot in jingle commercials due to popularity of washing machines at those times. It gave a relief to housewives with the lines’Bas ek hi pal mein.Aap ho gaye tayyar!’

5.Tanduroosti Ki Raksha karta Hai’Life Buoy’: That time Indian Soap market(Not TV Soaps) was not too big.and Lifebuoy was only Tanduroost Power Brand of HLL. Today after 109 years of its existence Lifebuoy still finds a place in Indian Hearts(Sorry Indian Toilets!)

4.Booland Bharat Ki Booland Tasveer.Humara Bajaj: Yes! Before Motorcycles could rule the road Bajaj auto had Chetak Scooter which was too popular with its commercial Humara Bajaj.(Bajaj didn’t jump into car manufacturing because.A car can’t be tilted on one side like good old scooter! Still I love Humara Bajaj) the commercial was re launched in mid 2001 with all vehicles in a parade.It was worth a watch too!

3.Zara si Khushi Dular zarasa.Amul: Really the brand being the’The Taste of India’ still has a great impact with butter, ice cream and cheese.

2. Washing Powder Nirma: Before Surf, Tide, Arial.Our own Nirma, an Ahmedabad based soap giant that time had a a jingle, which was’sab ki pasand.’

1.Titan: Do I need to tell you the Jingle? [The truth is I cant write this tune:)] Top of the charts tune for Titan. which is still being used in their latest commercial with Aamir khan. I am forced to put it at number one position owing to its popularity.
