The ten most entertaing batsmen

I have made these selections on the basis of how much entertainment they provide to spectators when they bat.

1) Shahid Afridi

Although I’m not an Afridi fan, I would say that whenever he plays I pray he has a good day. On an ordinary day Afridi has the ability to single handedly slay the opposition. I’ve never seen a teams worry as much as they do when Afridi is blazing away. Afridi is capable of the most destructive hitting, I just hope he learns to become more responsible. Shahid Afridi has to the most popular cricketer in the world, we have to love him for the way he deals in 6s only.

2) Virendar Sehwag

Virendar Sehwag is another guy who can slaughter a bowling attack. I remember against Pakistan he kept smashing every bowler in the same slot over and over again. He was hitting square cuts so hard the fielders just stood and watched. His strength is anything wide of the off stump, anything.

3) Chris Cairns

Chris Cairns hits gigantic sixes. Cairns hits so hard, I can that there is no ground big enough for this guy. I think the MCG is walkover for this guy, he would easily clear it. Cairns is awesome.

4) Abdur Razzaq

Never have I seen a team look as stunned as New Zealand did last year when Razzaq was giving some serious beatings. New Zealand were on the receiving end of some brutal hitting. Yorkers were being hit out the park, God have mercy. Where do you bowl if yorkers are going for sixes? Razzaq is the king when it comes to lower order hitting. Razzaq has the reputation of being the world’s best hitter, as he rightly deserves.

5) Muthiah Muralitharan

This may be a surprise to many but I love this guy. I can’t but help laugh when Murali is batting. He’s always smiling, and that is the sign of a guy who loves what he does. Good on him for becoming the leading wicket taker of all time. But I prefer him batting, he provides so many a laugh.

6) Adam Gilchrist

Gilchrist never really changes his tempo, well how can you change your tempo when you bat so fast. There is a air of arrogance around Gilchrist when he bats and I love it.

7) Lance Klusener

Lance Klusener may not be a regular member of the South African line-up, but I still rate him up there. His ability to hit sixes off consecutive balls is phenomenal. He is someone who you have at the top off your list when it comes to last ball sixes.

8) Andrew Symonds

Andrew Symonds has all the power of the world built into his big muscular arms. I like this guy, he know when to calm down and leave out the big shots (take note- Afridi). Whereas Cairns hits the biggest sixes in worls cricket, Symonds is capable of hitting flat sixes which barely take a lift off the ground, such is his power.

9) Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly is hated by the vast majority of non-Indians, but that shouldn’t upset him, you’re a hated cricketer if your good. I don’t think Ganguly has the power of Symonds, Razzaq or Cairns but he has the ability to mow the spinners out the park with ease. He is a clean striker of a cricket ball when it comes to spinners.

10) Andy Blignaut

Andy Blignaut is probably the most arrogant batsman there has ever been. He’s Zimbabwean so he doesn’t have the players that Symonds or Ganguly have to support him. Andy Blignaut came out in the world cup last year and treated the Australian nowlers with utter contempt. I respect any guy who does that.

I thought this would be the most appropriate place to write this review. They don’t have ten most entertaining cricketers.
