Nice and easy

First things first, what do I define as

Easy listening music?(Ezee listening music as my phone’s playlist

has it).  I guess anything I can listen to and work, or go to

sleep is ezee listening. So now that you have my definition of easy

listening music, here is my list of the ten songs I would call easy

listening numbers

10) Dream of the dolphin

Although

every single number I have heard from Enigma can make it to my list

of easy listening, but the truth is that there is something eclectic

about this number, I wonder if there are actually dolphins singing in

this one. Hmm. will check that out later, anyway all said and done

nice music and very Enigma style music.

9) Theme for black

hawk down

Okay, I know Celtic opera is not everyone’s cup of

tea, its not that simple to comprehend(I don’t understand the lyrics

either), but the music and the way that the male(tenor I think is

what the note is called, my opera is pretty poor, even more proof

this song is good) and the female Soprano is very well blended.(PS:

I am only guessing what the voices are, if anyone knows the exact

notes do let me know).

8) Fly away from Longest Yard

Soundtrack

I bet no one here thought that a R&B hip hop

number from Nelly could make the easy listening list, but the truth

is that this is hardly a hard core rap song, the song is very mellow,

and the rap is very very mellow, as compared to other rap numbers. So

yeah I can listen to this and still go to sleep(not because its

boring).

7) Tere Khusboo main base khat main

jalata kaisay by Jagjit

I don’t usually listen to Ghalzals, but

for some inexplicable reason I like this number, and I have no

trouble in working with this Ghazal in the back ground. And as only

Jagjit can do the Ghazal is absolutely poignant, and I love it. In

fact this is the only Ghazal that will make the list so I guess it

has something that I don’t see outwardly.

6) Karam

This was and still is the only saving

grace of the movie Karam, I love the rustic voice of the singer and

the way in which he sings. I don’t know how many of you reading this

review have heard the song, but I guess that is to be expected, none

the less the song is called Karam and is from the movie of the same

name. The lyrics if you listen closely are also pretty good.

5) Yeh hai meri Kahani

This one is from Zinda, and another

Pakistani singer(I am still a patriot by the way), really good song,

very calming, and am I told by my friends is also a very dark number,

hmm. maybe, that would make it 3 depressing/dark songs in a row but

I guess that is the way most dark songs are poignant and disarming.

4) Sinnerman – Nina Simone

I first heard the song while I was

watching the movie, the thomas crown affair, I loved it instantly,

its got a tempo about, dont’ get me wrong its a fast number, and

there is no way you can listen to this one and go to sleep, but it

really preps me up for work. Love it, it has a very gospel music feel

to it, (might just be a gospel song). Nina Simone has an amazing

voice, very powerful.(Surprise surprise I just Googled it and yes it

is a gospel number, cool. love the song whatever the genre it is).

3) Sledgehammer – Peter Gabriel

Another number that makes me feel the

verve, I love it, I think it has something to with my childhood, I

still remember the really crazy video, love it, don’t know what came

of Peter Gabriel, (another thing to Google tomorrow. item number

345 on the list I think. LOL). Upbeat song, rather invigorating and

a definite ready to go to work number.

2) Turn back time – Aqua

Another band I have to look up they

vanished after 2 albums, the best thing to come out of Aqua as far as

I am concerned is turn back time, the number is from a movie haven’t

the foggiest Idea what the movie was, but none the less the fact is

that the number stuck with me from the day I heard it some 6 years or

so ago. Loved it then, love it now. nice number.

1) And at number one crème de la

crème, the best and the most popular number of my play list

is. What goes around comes around, by none other than JT(Justin

Timberlake). All I want to say about this is one, that songs like

that give hope to people who have been cheated in love. LOL. no

thats not it. just love the song. and Justin can sing.
