Ten Worst Recent Bollywood Movies - Hall of Shame

HALL OF SHAME

These are 10 movies which you should send your mother-in-law to watch, all expenses paid(tickets, popcorn, aspirin included).

In the days of expensive movie tickets and lavish pre-release publicity, we as audiences go in to watch movies with all our expectations built up. We watch a movie, hoping to release our stresses of the week, take our mind off the various chores and of course, get value for the money that we blew on it.

Keeping this in mind, when you encounter a bad bad movie, you feel let down and truly frustrated.

Below are 10 worst movies that I have seen in recent times i.e. 25 hours of my life which I will never get back:

  1. Tashan - Incredibly stupid storyline, misplaced morals, silly humour and irritating acting make this movie a complete torture for the audience.

  2. Drona - Tacky special effects, poor casting and a protagonist who is supposed to be strong but is weak almost throughout the movie - a concept with excellent potential is badly wasted by Goldie Behl

  3. Yuvraaj - The most recent blunder by the hopelessly out-of-touch Subhash Ghai. Incredibly slow pace, thin storyline and misplaced morals all leave the audience completely bored. The great music and the excellent photography unfortunately are not enough to save this movie

  4. Saawariya - The man who gave us Black allowed the Law of Averages to catch up with him. Those of us who were still in the theatre through the movie, couldn’t believe it when it abruptly came to an end, though it did put an end to our misery.

  5. Do Knot Disturb - Hardly funny, patchy story, overweight Sushmita Sen who seems to be smiling all the time even when she is actually keeping an eye on her cheating husband and overacting by Lara Dutta. Did David Dhawan actually direct this movie? For that matter, did anyone direct this movie?

  6. Jhoom Barabar Jhoom - YRF have started producing all kinds of junk it seems. Another movie which attempts to be entertaining and funny but ends up being a low quality film in just about every department.

  7. Kisna - Another one by Subhash Ghai - Movie starts with a UK politician granting a massive aid to India(these things stopped happening a long time back but Ghai had evidently been in hibernation for a few decades) and then she wants to visit no other place in India but a small village in the mountains and we learn that her ex-lover lived there. Well, we thought she was on an official visit here.

  8. Hello - A hopeless book turned into a worse movie. God decides to call up a group of call centre employees to give them wisdom which is so basic, that a kindergarten child could have given it. And the Khan brothers liked it enough to make a movie out of it. Surprise surprise - the movie was a mega flop. The writer(Chetan Bhagat) and Salman have forgotten that they will have to one day face God - they better build up their excuses for grossly misquoting him.!

  9. Nishabd - RGV’s second worst movie(I havent seen the worst one - RGV ki Aag, and thank goodness for it!). Story of old man and teenage girl falling in love is handled with complete ineptitude. Infatuation mistaken for love, zilch chemistry between the girl and boy(I mean grand old man), lacking in morals make this movie a complete waste of time for us.

  10. Chandni Chowk To China - The country bumpkin from Chandni Chowk actually believes he is a reincarnation and goes all the way to China to help a hapless village folk against the tyrannies of an evil man. He discovers his strength in the last 15 minutes of the movie, and his "Kungfu move", instead of being inspiring, ends up being absolutely howlarious. And we wonder how does Evil Man lose so easily to this vegetable cutter from Old Delhi.
