~~~Dus Nahi Beez~~~
It is tough for me not to recommend a movie. But Iam writing about the top 10 (read 20) duds that I have seen. These are the movies which make me squirm in my seat and look for fresh air to breathe through the suffocation of characters and plots. Without much suspense, I reveal my top 10 (read 20) worst movies.
Kyun Ho Gaya Na  / Shabd - Ash
KHGN created such a hype and it was touted as a fresh romantic movie or something like that and also the first on-screen pairing of the lovebirds. But the movie was such an irritating fare that I was scratching my head till the movie ended. The movie is all about the girl waiting for her lover to accept her love who rejects her initially. If KHGN was unbearable.
Shabd was horrible. It was a story of a writer who after failure of his latest book is forced by the public to write something real and he doesn’t get any other topic other than writing about the extra-marital affair of a married woman (so he asks his wife to enact the role). That was totally senseless. This movie had the famous love-making scene of Sanju and Ash and thank god the hollywood people didn’t get an opportunity to see this movie coz in all the interviews in the West, Ash has given a statement that she hasn’t even kissed anyone on-screen.
Kaal / Kisna - Vivek
Kaal had an awful story about supernaturals in a forest (Orbit Park) and it is about a group of people being attacked by a mysterious power. The movie could have been an edge of a seat thriller but what irritated most was Vivek’s oft-repeated dialogues (cut the crap, and one more). The story was unbelievable and the pace slackens half the time, and towards the end it was predictable. But the movie which really made me hate this guy was the famous showmakers Kisna. It was a movie about an Indian guy helping a British woman to reach her destination after the outbreak of war against the british. What disappointed me most was putting the most soulful tune of ARR ’’Hum Hai Is Pal Yahan’’ in the background.
Bewafaa / Yaadein - Bebo
What amount of hype did ’’Bewafaa’’ not create? What ’’Raja Hindustani’’ was for Karishma, is ’’Bewafaa’’ for Kareena was the talk of the town. The movie is about a girl who falls in love with a guy. Her sister dies after giving birth to twins. Now the girl has to choose the kids and so marries her Jijaji and after 2 years, the boyfriend resurfaces.But what did Yaadein have? It was another senseless movie from the showmakers camp. The movie was slow, and the actors looked pale and disinterested. Kareeena took the cake in hamming and esp when Kareena cried after knowing that Hrithik is out of her reach, I felt like killing myself.
Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon / Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne Lage - Hrithik
Now to the Sooraj Barjatya’s much hyped movie, ’’MPKDH’’ as it was fondly called was one of the worst movies made in the century. I didn’t find any logic in the Prem messup. Hrithik’s overacting and Kareena’s breath-taking (literal sense) emotional hangovers made this movie a nightmare. ’’AMALL’’ is no classic. This movie generated too much hype as it had the one film wonder Hrithik and the never-can-act but always hamming Amisha joining after a hit. Result was a pathetic love story where the hero fights against the heroine’s gunda family to get her hand.
Rakht / Ishq Hai Tumse - Bipasha
Bipasha can have the privilege of giving the maximum number of flops in a limited period of time. She is a good actress but her choice of scripts leaves a lot to be desired. To be frank, ’’Rakht’’ was one movie which I didn’t understand. The killer’s identity is revealed at the end. But what took me by surprise was that Bipasha does tarot card reading and when she can see almost all forthcoming danger, why cannot she see that the killer is none other than someone who is in close proximity to her.  The next one is ’’IHT’’ which was ’’Hum Aapke Hain Kaun 2’’ with the same formula of one among the family knowing the love between the lead pairs who dies and the climax unites the lead pair.
Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche / Na Tum Jano Na Hum - Esha
The debut wagon for the much hyped daughter of Dharmendra-Hema Malini, ’’KMDSP’’ had such a sluggish execution and a expressionless Esha donning the main character. The only good thing about the movie was the super song ’’Deewana Tera Hai’’.  The next movie in the same category is ’’NTJNH’’ in which Esha was much worse than her Debut movie with Hrithik giving her company. Hero meets heroine (thru’ P.O.BOX. which generation are we in?) and at interval point sacrifice, and then finally unite.
1 2 ka 4 / Ek Chotti Si Love Story - Shashilaal Nair
For a change, let us look at one directors famous flops. ’’1 2 Ka 4’’ sans Juhi was the worst movie and even SRK’s screen presence couldn’t save the movie. SRK was a cop in the movie but when SRK does action sequences, it turns out to be a comedy fare. He is romantic BEST and he better stick to that. The movie had the famous Jackie dying scene which was cutely lifted from the ’’The Usual Suspects’’ hollywood flick. The next movie was ’’ECSLV’’ which definitely created hype, thanks to the film’s heroine, the once supertalented and now B-Grade movie actress Manisha Koirala who had a campaign against the movie’s release. A movie on the adoloscent’s fantasies, he says Iam 16, she is 28, Iam in love with her, and the rest is pure adulterated movie.
Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai / Kucch To Hai - Tushar
’’MKKH’’ was a lame story of a guy falling in love with a girl but he never has the guts to tell his love. The heroine goes abroad in the climax and just before she boards the flight, she gets omens that the hero is her lover... wow.. that was sick! ’’Kuch To Hai’’ lifted from ’’I know what u did...’’ by producer Kekta neither had thrills nor chills. The Esha-Natasha-Tushar all reigning flop stars joined in with a soap hit queen Kekta only to give a flop. But technically here negative * negative * negative * positive (Kekta coz her serials are HIT) is negative and so the movie bombed.
Chori Chori / Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaye - Rani
In chori chori, Ajay and Rani shared a good screen chemistry but Rani was at her worst best. Her intentions to make Sonali (I dunno what she was doing in the movie) jealous was completely out of place and finally she falls in love with hero, ooff!. ’’KPNHJ’’ was a Salman-Rani starrer and I dunno how many of you are aware of this movie. This movie had a beautiful title song and apart from that, the movie was easily forgettable. The famous scene where Rani talks to the mirror saying that she is ’’Priya pugalia and then correcting it as Priya Kapoor(salman’s surname)’’ can be singled out for the total movie disaster. It had the same old story of Guy loving a gal(Raveena, yes she was also in this movie like Sonali in chori chori) and the gal gets married to someone else and the guy falls in love with another gal(rani here) but she is engaged to someone and then she crosses all borders to unite with her lover. Enough!
Sorry chandra and Ankita....
Dhai Akshar Prem Ke / Run - Abhishek
’’DAPK’’ was remade from a wonderful poetic tamil movie ’’Pooveli’’. The original was such a pleasure to watch. But its clone was not even miles near the original with the then-wooden now-rocking Abhishek and the director’s child and most beautiful gorgeous Ash having no clue about the story and their characters. The beautiful story was butchered by the makers with songs popping up unnecessarily. ’’Run’’ was also a remake but again was nowhere near the original. The story didn’t suit to the tastes of the Hindi audience. I myself didn’t like the Hindi version though I loved the Tamil version.
Don’t forget to RRC :))
