Lets BAT.............

Tendulkar a name known all over the world. Recently this name has created more waves in Mumbai after the opening of a restaurant called “Tendulkars”, by Sachin. I am not sure as to how many of you are aware of this neat little place suited at Apollo Bunder Mumbai. I must say that it is the place for a visit and one of the best places now in Mumbai in hospitality industry. As soon as you enter the place you get a very different sort of a feeling, cause its different from the normal restaurants. You pass through a long passage which is beautifully done with flags of different nations. at the end of it is a small shop selling all cricket stuff like bags , t-shirts, souvenirs, etc.(yet to open shortly) but the display is already on.

Then a few flight of steps take you to the main hall, the restaurant. One is warmly greeted and shown the table depending afcourse on the number of PACs and reservations done. As is the cricket season there are screens put up all over the place, so as to one can watch the matches from any angle that he may be seated in.. There is also a playroom for children with lots of toys. The service offered is very courteous and the ambience is very neatly and well done. One gets a very friendly and warm feeling being out there, to get in a little more color to the world cup season, there was Aneesh from FM adding color and interaction of people there, quizzing around all tables asking question on current cricket happenings and giving away prizes like t-shirts, signed photos of cricketers with autographs. There was a lot of interaction among the people visiting the restaurant.

There was also a tattoo painter who painted flags, Worldcup, Ball, Bat etc as per your choice. There were people who painted the stuff on the face, hands, arms etc it really felt the fever of cricket all over the place………….. Now something about the food, well the dishes we had in starters were Alu Tuk, fried Bombay duck, Wok tossed chicken, chicken kabab plate, crispy fried vegetables and Thai beef salad. Well the starters were really good and the taste was something special. For the main course (well here it was pre plated)……….. Corn & Potato in Hot sauce, Diced chicken, Chicken in peri peri, Goan Prawn curry rice (supposed to be the favorite out here), chargrilled chicken and kashmiri paneer . The taste worth a go again and again. For deserts we had Apple Crisp (highly recommend) and Gooey chocolate brownie (yum).

Well the prices for the starters vary from Rs100/- onwards and for the pre-plated main course from RS 275/- onwards. On the table there were coaster with different information about cricket, the cutlery and presentation were a la grand. But the experience of it all was simply worth a go………… To end it all there was a special celebration by the staff, as we had informed them that it was a birthday of my sisters (twins) so they had some pastries with candles and the whole staff gathered there to wish and sing for them, it was just wonderful, the special personal touch. To end it all they give you some chocolate goodies which have to be opened and one lucky winner would find a small chit saying “Cheque on the house”, but prey we only had our fortune on the chits.
