Tera Intezar by Rahul Vaidya sure reiterates that Rahul is here to stay. He may have beem only the 2nd runner up to Indian Idol Abhijeet, but he sure has attained high levels of popularity and appreciation- for loads of reasons too.
The title track is a rage, with its funky ’’o ho ho ho’’ beats. The song begins with some light piano chords and goes on to be a feast for the ears. An appealing video makes the song a sure shot hit, which it is.
Tere Liye is a sweet, romantic number- again proving that romance is definitely Rahul’s best genre. Sweet and simple lyrics combined with haunting music will make sure you rewind. Mausam is a fine track too, with a lovely beginning. Its all about the so b’ful weather and life, it makes you feel refreshed. Kangna Re is rather a letdown, there are way too many beats to really enjoy the track. Its fair.. but quite behind the earlier tracks.
Side B begins with the sad Tumse Bichadke. Rahul hits the high notes perfectly here. This is where his difference from Sonu comes forth, they have a very distinct way of rendering their high notes. The low ones are quite the same though. You can sense the teenage depression of losing a loved one very well in this well felt and well sung song. Kuch to Kaho is a ballad with Prajakta Shukre, cute and enchanting. Prajakta sounds appealing and melodious. Maula has the same underlying aura as Adnan Sami’s Mujhko Bhi to Lift Karade.. but the treatment is quite different. Rahul proves his versatility well here. Maula is rich in energy and enthusiasm. The album ends with a remix of the title track- ’’Waiting for u Mix’’. Nothing overdone here, it is a cool finale.
All in all, this is a must buy for any music lover. At 18, Rahul Vaidya displays the maturity of a professional. Wonderfully in harmony, melody and rendition- he will wow you!
