Partners in Rhyme . . . remember . . . Chaandni raatein (Distant Voices). The girl, flying away for career, leaving behind her love, in pain and despair. That one song had awed many of us. The impact of that album was huge on good music lovers.
Here they are again and the magic has been recreated. Hardip Sidhu and Prem Hans: this UK based duo have done a splendid job with their latest 11 songs from Tera Mera Pyar.
We have Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonali Vajpayee, and Babul Supriyo and last but not least, Shreya Ghoshal. This is also the first private album featuring Shreyas songs.
Tera mera pyar, in a nutshell: Music is soft and with lots of Indian instruments. Therefore, its not just lyrics or vocals that would impress. The melody and the instruments also add up to the value. Generally, most of the typical Indian songs have music used as fillers between https://lyrics.
Tera mera pyar is sung by Kumar Sanu, a treat for your ears and eyes. Award-winning filmmaker Apurva Asrani directed this video. Simple and watchable video. It is a story where a pretty young thing* comes to watch a film with her friends, and while she is waiting in line for the tickets, turns around to notice a handsome guy . . . The caption of the album is from this video, Come fall in love at the movies’. The low pitch and the warm vocals add a soft touch to the song.
Yeh Kya Hua by Shreya Goshal is the next song, equally melodious but on the slower side. This was written with Shreya Ghoshal in mind. Even better, Shreya did not mean to do this album but it happened. . . accidentally. Well, it was a superb accident. Soothing, may be the apt adjective for her voice.
Kurti Da and Teri Meri are fast numbers and are nice welcome change to the slow mood set-up by other songs. Udits voice in the punjabi song is nice and energetic. I dont understand Punjabi, but still it sounded nice :-)
Pyar Ke Baatein and Dhak Dhak are typical love songs. Listen to the album and it keeps your interest alive to look forward for the next track. However, Pyar Ke Baatein is a remake of the old Chandni Raatein. The song is good but is no match to the original.
Aankhon se is a superb song. Great music, good melody and beautiful https://lyrics. Alkas voice does dominate Kumar Sanus though. However, a little mismatch occurs when they sing in chorus. One has to listen carefully to identify the mistake.
If you would like to note, check it out when the song has gone past 5 minutes and 21 seconds.
The lyrics goes as . . .kehtey hain khaake hum kasam . . .
The chorus breaks for a couple of seconds. Alka goes ahead faster than Kumar Sanu. But thats a little flaw which can be easily overlooked.
In the very same song, you have an amazing example of the usage of comma in songs. There is this long sentence that you actually have to listen twice to understand. But it is a very nice line. The usage of comma has to be visualized to understand this line.
Tere bin yeh zindagi lagthi hain kar mera yakeen kehtey hain khaake hum kasam jaise koi banwaas hain |
Tere bin yeh zindagi, lagthi hain, kar mera yakeen, kehtey hain khaake hum kasam, jaise koi banwaas hain |
See the difference!!
