Fantabulous - Tere Naam

Now this will surely poke all the ants in the anthill but I thought the movie was pretty thought provoking not withstanding a little jarred notes which are a feature of every Hindi movie. Right from the names of the characters, location, acting, starcast and the story ofcourse, Satish Kaushik has proved that he can make tragedies too along with comedies. So lets give him credit where it is due and not make a parody of his work...Termed as Salman’s comeback I was reluctant to watch it for a reason - I was not at all a fan of Salman and sincerely thought his movies sucked huge (____o____) if ye ignore a couple of cool ones..

Also, the song in his college zzzzzzzzzzed me off.. But then I ventured with trepidation to watch it and was in for a pleasant ride..Salman has done utter justice to the role along with Bhumika and his Mozzie friend (forjot his name)...The movie reeks of purity in case all ye people have ignored it - purity in love, friendship and relations..Salman portrayed as a smartass moves in love with Bhumika after ragging and troubling her a bit...I guess people could not digest why Salman was single all this time and why did he fall for plain Jane Bhumika...methinx the answer is - One - Opposites attract and Two - Can ye ever in yer life pinpoint when or why did ye fall in love with a certain person?...

The sacrifice by Bhumika’s beau..Salman’s acting as a insane guy, his return to innocence towards the end of the movie and his decision to return to the ashram and continue his life till the end left a poignant silence in me...

This movie can be understood only by those who - have been in love wholly and soully - understand this..even now when people have girlfriends and wives and that too for many years still peek at their neighbour’s wives and wink at all the pretty young things...What Kaushik has depicted in the movie is pure love..which knows nothing else other than the fact that ye are in true love - it is that moment when nothing else matters, no one else matters and life without yer beloved is unthought of..so naturally when yer lover is dead, it makes no sense joining the living any more..Direction is subtle and missed by a majority..

Loved a couple of scenes a lot - One when Salman sees Bhumika dead..controlled acting at its best..no hullabaloo and no overacting..second is when he is walking back towards the van in the end and his friend comes on the bike and drops it wherever it is in his joy of seeing Salman..and the third when Bhumika’s beau asks her to go for Salman as he is a better guy and loves her truly...left a lump in my throat...guess I am the senti one hehe..

I will rate the movie as one ahead of its time - people still have not come to terms with it and will not for quite some time..but be in love once completely..ye will know it instantly when ye are in it..dont fall in love but rise in it and ye will understand why I am so besotted with the movie..But I respect everyone’s idealogy - to each its own..

Salman shattered my expectations of him..proved to be a versatile one and am eagerly waiting for his next one..Kudos to him..forget the hairstyles and Ash..
