T.G.I.F and I can go somewhere else !

Here in Florida, we have a T.G.I.F. in every city and every town.

It is a very over rated club/bar/restaurant.

The decor is very nice. You walk in and are greeted by a host or hostess, who seats you at either a table in the bar(where you can smoke) or in the restaurant (where you can not smoke). The floors are carpeted in earthy colors that set off all the hanging plants and nick knacks hung on the walls. The walls also offset the earth tones in color. Above each table there is a low hanging, imitation tiffany lamp, with a low wattage bulb, giving the entire restaurant a calm, quiet feel.

Then you get to the menu...Bring a wad of cash or a good credit card, cause the prices are steep!

If you’re going to have dinner, prepare to spend about $15.00(US) for an entree, $5.00 for an appetizer, $2.00 for a soft drink and $5.00 for dessert. That’s quite high for a bar setting for dinner.

They do have quite a large selection to choose from though. Everything from salads to burgers and sandwiches to steaks and ribs and chicken. The appetizer list is also quite large.

The taste and quality of the food is just average, nothing to write home about. The portions are also just average. The only saving grace is that the desserts are GREAT!

They do have a daily ’’Happy Hour’’ that runs from 5 P.M. till(I believe)7 P.M., when you can get special prices on drinks and appetizers.(Now is your chance to save a little money, if you can fill up on appetizers)It’s usually buy 1 drink, get one free, during happy hour.

The drinks will also set you back quite a bit. The average cost of a cocktail is about $5.00 (Beer is about $3.00)

On the week ends you can listen to some ’’canned’’ music. Usually played too loud, from overhead speakers.(And really, quite bad music at that).

Usually, you see ’’YUPPIE’’ types in T.G.I.F., with their cell phones glued to their ears. Trying to make impressions on unseen people on the other end of the phone line(and trying to show off, in front of the people in the restaurant).

As you can tell, I’m not crazy about the place.

But if you want to over pay for average food and drinks and listen to canned music....Go for it! It’s your kind of place.........and you can have it.
