Nothing to THANK about anymore

Happy hours and a huge cocktail menu can get you only so far. But to attract repeat clientele you need good friendly service and a consistent high quality servings of food & liquor.

TGIF is still popular and crowded during happy hours and it is great to see tables lined up with multple goblets and glass of varied shapes and colours. But as a regular visitor I starting to experience the not so good points about this place.

First, the service sucks. The place is highly understaffed. During rush hours it is very difficult to get the attention of the guy serving your table. Menu cards are hard to come by - wonder why?

By choice or by accident but you are never served water first up unless you ask for it. Billing is slow. All in all, you feel neglected. A first timer is carried away by the colourful ambience and the choice of drinks. But a regular needs attention and service.

Secondly, the quality of drinks has been degrading steadily. There is more ice in your drink than liquor. Happy hours does not mean diluted booze. I am sure people are not so sloshed as not to notice. But over the years, the drinks are deteriorating.

Third, the price. Yes, there are people in bangalore ready to pay 350 bucks for a drink(or two in happy hours). But isnt that steep for a glass half filled with ice? My routine with every order is to ask for any empty glass and a spoon. I first empty out all the ice from my drinks. Its disappointing to see 2 half filled glasses on my table even before I have had my first sip. The disappointment turns to anger when I pay a few thousand bucks for that by the end of the evening.

Fourth, the appetizers or so called happy hour snacks. How can a dish of chicken fingers contain only 3 fingers? The size of their serving is very much proportional to the cost. Which means a dish costing you 100 bucks isnt going to get you much. Be ready to dish out more for larger portions.

Is there then anything good in this place. Yes, the choice of drinks as I already mentioned and also the choice of food. A good american spread is on offer. Finding moong as beans in my nachos isnt american fare but I will grant them that much.

An expensive way to spend an evening. But if you have the cash, not a bad place. But definitely not value for money.
