Except the drive upto thandar, nothing is great about this place. It’s just another town with nothing to see or do. Locals are hostile, abusive, cheat and will try to bite you. Do bring a small firearm with you to protect yourself and friend.
By far this had been the worst experience of ours in Himachal ever. Try to avoid this place, a more suitable place is fagu top, it’s more enchanting and relaxing. We had stayed at fagu a day before, and the as we drove up 3 hours higher in mountains, we were expecting something better! Thandar is located at foot of the mountain! (so much for a view).
Our destination was banjara resort, which looked tempting from their website but as soon as we reached there, we felt like we have been cheated of our time spent in travelling. There a million better places to visit, just avoid Thandar
