Those of you who like action, adventure, thrills all rolled into a colorful comic book are surely going to enjoy this book by Herge. This is why I was first hooked on to Tin Tin comics. I have been reading them since I was a kid and have enjoyed them thoroughly.Herge writes in a very simple and understandable manner. The stories that he selects are quite interesting. They really get the reader hooked to the book and it is not easy to put it down before completing it.Each and every character is given a good deal of exposure so the reader feels that he/she actually knows them.Herge takes you to a lot of exciting places along with the hero Tin Tin the reporter, Snowy, his dog and his trusted and loyal friends Capt.Haddock and Prof. Calculus. Together they fight villains of all shapes, sizes, colours and nationalities using their wit and bravery.I have read other comic books of similar type like The Adventures of Asterix the Ghoul and let me tell you that this book is as interesting and funny.Other Tin Tin books that I recommend are Tin Tin in Tibet, Flight 714, Tin Tin in America and The Blue Lotus. However, if you are past your days of reading comic books and totally into matured novels then you might want to give this one a skip. It can be a good change though. There are, however, a few problems with the book. It tends to get a bit childish at times. At other times the end is either too predictable or a big fiasco. But these drawbacks are easy to ignore. So just stretch your legs on the sofa and get on with the ride.
