Nice Location

I stayed recently at The Hotel Ambassador, Churchgate Extension, V.N. Road, Mumbai. The best part about this hotel is its location. Its just off the Marine Drive at one end of V.N. Road. Though its rated as a four star hotel I think its overrated. I stayed in a standard room which cost me appx Rs.5500.00 per day with breakfast. The room was OK. Good bathroom. Room service and food ordered in the room both were wanting in quality. The hotel boasts of the only revolving restaurant in mumbai which unfortunately I could not visit. The corridors are narrow and one does get a feeling of lack of space. Location is very central, still not crowded. Staff is courteous. In these times when there is heavy occupancies in hotels in metro and other major cities I think this hotel is fairly OK both tariff wise and quality. On V.N.Road itself next to the hotel there are restaurants, eateries, icecream parlours, coffee shops etc in a varying range which is very convenient. Churchgate Station is just a few hundred yards from the hotel. The hotel is ideal for business and casual visitors. The tariff is fair for Mumbai. It does not qualify as a luxury hotel. But for somebody whom the five star tariffs are high this hotel is a good choice keeping in view its central location.
