THE ANGREZ

Actually, Angrez word belongs to the Nizam era when there was a British batallion stationed in Hyderabad so people came to deal with British residents and they came to know their habits and eventually this word became synanmous with any english speaking person, it actually means a

person not easily compreshinsible to local population.

The cast of this film must be mentioned first because all of them seems to be first timers, the inspiration of this film is a few reviews written on MOUTHSHUT and also the great Indian Comedy show, hosted by Sidhu and Shekar. The makers seem to be ardent visitors of this site.

That said and done, let me tell you dialogues of this film are so representative of the local Deccani dialect, I am so much amazed at the authenticity of the exact delivary of the words and sentences used in their full form, the exact replica which you hear in the interior parts of this wonderful city which this film tends to bring out its inherent flavour and the spicy tastes, the praise must go to the dialogue writer, he has done everything possible to overlook all commercial compulsions in penning the dialogues of this film. It seems the makers of this film love Hyderabad

more than they love making money for their act of film making. THE ANGREZ.

This film will go very soon into becoming a historical document, because the persons and characters shown in this film are becoming extinct what with the advent of so many HARDWARE PARKS, SOFTWARE PARKS, International Airport, Aga khan Urdu University and many more super money intensive ventures being started in Hyderabad today, very soon the persuit of commerce will wipe away SALEEM PHEKOO, PHASLI CHADaO, DUKAN KHARAAB.

I am positive before I finish writing this review ISMAIL BHAI and his gang are wiping away into extintion. This is a very timely film to save these people from extintion to eternity on digital format. THANK YOU FILM MAKERS.

The pace of THE ANGREZ, the phrase old city guys are so close to the bone, I am challenging everyone to tell me these characters are not real but fiction an invention created by the writers brains. This challenge nobody who knows Hyderabad will take up, come on people, how good a writer can create his characters, it is unbelievable to think these guys are acting or exist only in this film. KUDOS to the writers.

Today old city has become so well educated, it is churning out more engineers and doctors than the new city, but this film will remain a very entertaining documents to the times our beautiful city was a witness to, I am sure this film is very entertaining and funny than many contemprory films being made today. I am happy I saw this film.

YADAV mama, Ramesh, LOTUS are very beautiful people, the biryani song, the menu given by Irani Hotel boy the Deccani dialogue are simply beautiful, so beautiful this film is, in order to enjoy it fully you must go live in Hyderabad atleast 5 years to understand each and every local naunces used in this film, it is an effort by a genius. LOTUS is a more hyderabad girl than LAXMI, the suspicious girl working in Hi-Tech city Company.

Writing about this story is a sin, this film is to be seen to be believed, nobody is disappointed with the story of this film, from the scene one you are so much busy in this film, you dont have time for smally silly things like a story to worry about, let me tell you, nobody could well understand the music of this film, it is so representative of Hyderabad like all the other aspects of this film, it is purely DECCAN at its best, the beats all chosen are resounding in Hyderabad lanes and bylanes since 50 years and more now, the music of this film is as representative of this film as the people show including the beautiful lotus.

I know there are people out there in other parts of India who know both Urdu/Hindi very well but still could not understand some of the meanings of the dialogues of this film, each word used in this film has its firm roots in the so many localities of Hyderabad which will become clear only after

know the Deccani culture we have here.

I am happy makers of this film did not modify the dialogues to make them best suitable for commercial consumption for the whole mass of India, there is no Bollywood, Tollywood, Hollywood in this film, this film is a love story a very genuine love story, I am a sucker for love stories, I know a

love when I see one. The makers of this film so much love our city and its culture, they not only put their efforts and money in making this film but they dared to keep it pure and holy away from all the commercial compulsions the art of film making requires.

This film is very bold love story, it seems the makers of this film made it for themselves, they have kept it selfishly close to their art and heart, the story writer, the script writer, the director, the producer, the actors are going down on their knee with a rose in hand and proposing to the fair

maiden that is Hyderabad and swearing their undying love for this maiden to eternity preserved in digital, laser disk format permanently.

Yo being so much in love with a thing is contagious, it can wipe out the pains of CHICKEN GUNIA.
