Army Public School Dhaulakuan is one of the oldest and reputed school of India and it was a dream come true for me when I joined the school. I have passed out from this school and I have lived the life of a tapsite. The school is built in one of the green locations of the capital .The school is spread in many acres of land and has population around 5000 students.The intake is 85-90% for army kids and limited seats for civilians.
It has classes from 1 to 12 and has sections up to 11 or 12 depending upon the population. School is well built has 5 major blocks including Main block Raina Auditorium Malhotra Block Primary wing block and an Activity Block to provide all kinds of creative and interesting activities related to craft, drawing, clay modeling etc, hostel for boys in also provided in the campus.Teachers are very good and helpful, they interact well with all the students, teacher to student ratio is 1:30.
Apart from achieving excellence in academics the school provides all major sports to students and gives students the opportunity to learn and participate in extra co-curricular activities. The school motivates its children by awarding excellence star batches with certificates to students who score above 85%.
Late Capt Vikram Batra and Late Capt Anuj Nayer are the alumni of this school . Ira singhal the topper of UPSC exam is for APS DK .Also celebrities like Chetan Bhagat, Neha Dhupia, Ranvijay Singh were part of this institution.
