The Bankster - quite a thriller!

This was my first Ravi Subramanian book and to be frank, I was pleasantly surprised. I had not expected such finesse.

I have always been a bit sceptical of new age Indian authors, but after reading Subramanian, I have actually started digging deep into the list of new publications and trying to find some more gems like this.

The book takes the reader on a fast paced journey through different incidents occurring at different cities across the globe. But despite the to and fro motion of locations, the book maintains its unity and flow and does not degenerate into different unconnected bits, which is commendable. The narration of the tale is impeccable.

The first few chapters seem fragmented as the reader is left clueless how the main narrative of the book is connected to all these seemingly different incidents. But slowly with the progression of the chapters, the different pieces of the puzzle fall into place as the story takes a shape.

The best part of the book is the fact that the author is successful in keeping the last bit of mystery intact throughout the book as the imagination of the reader is left to soar until the author shatters all of it in the end. A good pick for those who love corporate thrillers.
