I just hope this lady doesn’t watch The Bold And The Beautiful. We really don’t need anyone identifying with the people in this soap!
The Story
Hmmm... Lady A sleeps with Man B. Lady A also sleeps with Man B’s father. Lady B is Man B’s wife. Man C is Man B’s brother and tries to sleep with Lady B.
Getting any of this? Interesting huh? ;) Well not if this weird orgy is spread over thousands of episodes! I remember my mother watching this when I was 10-11. So you can calculate how many people must have slept with each other in all these years.
Basically the soap revolves around the Forrester family who own a fashion label. The son of the Forresters is the man that two women are after. Over the years, he marries one, then marries the other, eventually going back to the first one. I hear in recent episodes, his second wife is scheming to bring him back (scheming read as throwing herself at him). Meanwhile, everyone is lusting after everyone else. The most common form of revenge is to drop their Versace’s and sleep with the enemy’s hubby.. not that the men are complaining ;) In Indian soaps we still only have women hatching plots to defame each other. It’s a good thing we don’t see the Tulsiz of our TV becoming allergic to their clothes. Thank God for small mercies!
The third generation of Forresters is already in trouble. That’s a different menace altogether. The kid has got his sister’s baby-sitter pregnant while he’s still in high school. So now he has to marry her, but he soon decides that he doesn’t love this girl who will soon bear his child. He’s in love with another girl. Understandably the father of the ’other’ girl doesn’t want his daughter seeing a guy who is already engaged to marry his teenage pregnant girlfriend.

If you’re looking for good looking people with great clothes and lifestyles to match, then this if for you. If you’re looking for acting... oh cmon, you’re not really looking for acting, not after what I just told you about the story!!
Why to skip
The lack of any sensible story line
No end in sight. This soap refuses to go away. Nobody reads a book to get to the middle, right? So to see the ending you must wait till the cast dies of old age... but wait.... I almost forgot, they already have a third generation of trouble-makers in the plot. So you’ll probably die watching it.
Because you’re a seedhi-saadhi (simple-sample) woman and don’t wish to corrupt your mind

Outdated sociology book. After all, how else to study different forms of sexual activity in human beings?
A big fan of all ’skin’ny affairs
Just want to watch someone getting some
Want to see what all possible combinations of related people can engage in anything flesh-oriented
But...
Let’s not be so cynical. This show has it’s plus points too. It does touch subjects like rape, incest, teen sex, drugs and teen age pregnancy; showing how things can go horribly wrong even for the rich and famous. Thus implying that you’d better get your act together, coz if the Forresters can’t wriggle out of it, how can you?
What do I think?
I think this soap started out with a love triangle, but falling ratings forced them to make it a love square, then pentagon and so and so forth. Now the geometric shape is so complex that all mathematicians have fainted.
