Last December, one of my relative had a celebral stroke. On being taken to the CMRI hospital, he was put in ICCU. In the afternoon he was operated and the clots were taken out of his brain by boring holes in the skull. Since my relative had angioplasty done in August 2014, so he had to take blood thinner ecospirin. But after a cerebral stroke normally ecospirin should be stopped.
But due to the medical negligence of the hospital authorities, my relative was given ecospirin, three days after the surgery of the brain while in comatose condition . Consequently, my relative suffered a second haemorrhage and he did not regain his consciousness. On repeated requests to the doctors, a ct scan was done and the second haemorrhage was detected. A day later another surgery was done to take out the blood clots by cutting the skull bone and the skull bone was kept in the abdomen without the familys consent. After the second surgery, it took fifteen days for my relative to regain consciousness. But that didnt end our woes.
My relative had tracheaastomy ten days after the first brain surgery. When he regained consciousness, we found that he cant speak and his right hand and leg was paralysed. When we sought information from the neurosurgeon about the cause of paralysis, he was very rude and said that it was because of the haemorrhage. Later he said that my relative could be taken home. When we said that his tracheaastomy is not removed and he cant speak and even he cant walk, so we cant take him home, he became more rude and unsympathetic and said that we didnt care for our relative. On repeated requests, the tracheaastomy was removed and to our horror we found that my relative could not speak. We later found out that the tracheastomy pipe was forcibly inserted into the trachea and while doing so the voice box was damaged. Because we filed a complaint in the hospitals HR division against the doctors who were responsible for the medical negligence, soon we were pestered to leave CMRI with our relative. Ultimately we had to take him away from there and got him admitted him in another hospital. Now my relative is fine but I would suggest never to go to CMRI for any neuro related problems. Medicine has now become a corrupted profession. If we are lucky, we can get a good doctor or else our life is at stake in the hands of the corrupted and irresponsible ones.
