This place has that tag of exclusivity attached to it whenever there is a talk of B’lore club scene b’coz this was the one and only nightclub of any notable stature that B’lore boasted for a long time, until recently (for that matter few months )some other good clubs have cropped around , but still not popular with general B’lore freaks and only hosts those weekend rave parties. But still the happening exclusive parties like MTV bashes, theme nights like ’’Jalwa nights’’, ’’Latino nights’’ ...etc are hosted right here.
This place is popularly know as ’’The Club’’, and has a large swimming pool just outside the discotheque, a restaurant attached along with it and also a cosy pub called the ’’IceBay’’ with pool and snooker tables. The swimming pool is the venue for the rare Pool grind’s , and is a nice place to sit around and have a sip. The circular dance floor is rather quite small for the most happening talked off parties and invariably gets too crowded else pretty decent. A stair leads u to the upper crest which has a small bar and overlooks the dance floor and is the place to stand or sit and most of the time also turns out to be a mini dance floor, gives a nice view of the trendy and frenzy dance floor below. The music is mind blowing, with a mix of hip-hop, R&B and mainly house and trance, also heard some retro picks and is taken care by DJ Assad (Winner, Smirnoff War of the DJ’s 98 )and Bipin. Do u know the best Dj’s in the country like DJ Ivan started of here? The disco is only open on Monday, Wed, Fri and Sat nights and Sat afternoons. Entry is usually restricted to couples, but well dressed stags or groups r allowed , but also depends on the occassion.
But always the best part of the club is the crowd here, which attracts the elite, most fashionable , best dressed, hype , party crazy people. It has a legendary history, boasting of the most talked of people in the fashion circle partying here, with the likes of VJ’s, miss India’s, film stars, fashion designers .....u name it , u can hear were once and even now party here. Ofcourse , with this place being the only night club in the fashion capital of India, where else can u expect them to be?
But lately with those stupid time restrictions in B’lore , it closes early by midnight, and has lost much of its sheen, as most of them would go to party in other scores of underground rave parties held in clubs located in the outskirts. But of late somehow it isnt’ living up to its reputation, as this new year party turned out to be for which its quite known for hosting the best party in the city, which I heard from my friends was’nt so great, and lost out to the ’’Great hollywood night’’ , which I really loved. Anyway, there is always a next time.
