I loved The Conjuring; it was one of those movies that kept me up after I saw it due to its extreme eerie feel and its creepy scares.
To me that is what makes a scary movie great; it sticks with you even after its over. A lot of scary movies nowadays seem to think that tons of jumpscares is the way to go in horror movies and its disappointing.
The Conjuring proved those movies wrong and showed that you dont need jumpscares to make a scary movie effective.
Sure it had some jumpscares(only SOME), but it relied more on the setting and the eerie feeling itself of being haunted to give it the effect audiences want to see in a horror movie. The Conjuring 2 does exactly the same thing and continues to give you that sick feeling in your stomach as soon as you hear a weird noise in the movie play.
Not only does the sound give you the creeps but the demons themselves can give you nightmares. The storyline and the characters themselves are done so well it makes you feel for the characters. Great movie to go see on a late night, maybe not one for those who get frightened easily.
