The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time

A title that made me go through the book in a single day itself, the book is fascinating, enriching, intriguing as the title. We get to know about Asperger’s syndrome, how its effects affect the life of the protagonist "Christopher John Francis Boone".

One day he finds a neighborhood dog named " Wellington " being killed with a fork in a mysterious way. So, our 15 year Christopher decides to play the role of a "detective", to find its killer which amuses the reader throughout the book. The way he investigates in the beginning and his interaction with the neighbor’s is hilarious.

This work encompasses entertainment alongside knowledge, his logic, intuition that he follows shows his dexterity. Such as

1) The way he differentiates simile and metaphor.

2) His pet rat" Toby"( his interaction with it entertains for a brief period, its menu, grooming habits etc)

3) his hatred towards yellow and brown color

4) how he predicts his day as "SUPER GOOD DAY", " BAD DAY" through the arrangement of cars.

5) his "QUIRKS"

6) his "White lies" explanation

7) his reasons for loving "The hound of Baskervilles" and his detest for " Arthur Conan Doyle "

8) Arriving to a solution through logical deductions

9) About Clues&Red herrings

10) His adventurous journey in the London underground

11) I realised that behavioural problems exist with everyone, unless we identify them.

12) Most interesting aspect is numbering the chapters with prime numbers

13) his idea of writing a book by the findings of the murder case

14) The maths puzzles, diagrams and how he apply them to his life.

15) His preparation of timetable

There are some setbacks such as

1) defects in his personality like not understanding emotions of others, mainly the pain and love of his father,

2) being a troublesome child at times

3) socially distant( his phobia to meet strangers and converse with them) .

4) the second part of the story quite monotonous.

Overall I enjoyed reading the book
