The Dan Brown's Code.

Hi Friends,

I presume every one of you who has clicked this review-page has read ‘The Da Vinci Code’ by Dan Brown and many of us have also read so many reviews and comments on the same. A lot of us have already run our search engines hot to read about the core issue, that is Mary Magdalene and Jesus(kuch kuch hota hai) .

Hence the purpose of this another review is not to re-reveal the plot of the Novel or re-identify the characters (which I almost have forgotten by now), but to focus on the core issue integrated in the thin film of fiction.

Now all of us are going to admit one thing, it is a work of fiction. An author too has a right to fantasize (with apologies to Nancy Friday’s Fantasies) and present it as ‘Reality-show’ (where everyone knows it is engineered for an audience) but we enjoy it and even fight over the issues related to it (like we did for The Passion of Christ or lately Jo bole so nihaal or till now doing over Da Vinci Code). We see a Bhagat Singh (4-5 versions in short span and then compare and say this or that version was quite close to history or actors acted well). The same vision is correct to see The Da vinci Code. Dan Brown neither is claiming the seat of Historian, religious expert or an art-historian nor he is claiming that whatever he is speaking is truth and truth only. We must admire his exquisite smart art of story telling and also his marketing skills (I believe Rowling too is equally adept in this game, that’s why her Harry sells like hot cakes). He has made all of us race along with him around Paris, New York, London, etc. and we have been carried away by the technique of an author. Such a technique is quite superior and GREAT.

It seems Dan Brown likes the symbology very much, and he is quite an expert in presenting his Code. His Outer frame of a Crime Thriller along with edge of the seat mystery and fast-lane chase scenes without seatbelts are exactly like another Hollywood block-buster and it is common knowledge that the Da Vinci Code has already been selected for converting it into a movie and everyone of us will get a chance to see and enjoy it.

But buried deep inside this hot spin story line is the re-kindling of an antique religious issue of Christianity that is of ‘Mary Magdalene – as Bride of Jesus’. The issue just doesn’t end here but goes up and above to the ‘so-called child’ and a ‘story of Jesus Blood in French kings’. Now   what happened at the time of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, nobody exactly knows. People always relish spinning tales, talking rubbish and enjoying it. Even I would like to spin a tale and make people believe in it and then a few will stand for while a few against it.   Being in news for whatsoever reason means business, More BUSINESS and being a MALLIKA SHERAWAT MMS OR SALMAN-AISHWARYA CHAT MEANS something really juicy, spicy, pungent and hot for public taste. Not to talk of the taste of we downgrade hypocrite people, even the media is pretty eager to ‘show all’ and our esteemed national dailies like to report truth and truth only let it be bitchy four-letter words or pin up sashas.

So this tale of Jesus and Mary Magdalene has all the MASALA MAR KE ingredients and it has come out very nicely like a heady wine. It is more appropriate that I suggest to the people genuinely interested to look up at the following link sites (for more masala; with real apologies to religious bigots):

1. https:// magdalene.org   [This site is nearly perfect in presenting everything related to Mary Magdalene neatly and clearly.]

2. https:// beliefnet.com [Another interesting site to check out about Jesus and Mary Magdalene, the holy Grail, and Da Vinci Code]

3. www, newadvent.org [ Catholic Encyclopedia site to find out the catholic version of Saint Mary Magdalene]

4. https://gnosis.org [On this site, one can read portions of The Gospel According to Mary Magdalene]

Besides the above-noted sites, there are hundreds of another sites providing information but I am sure the inquisitive seeker who will attempt to start search with these four will naturally grow up to be a man from his boyhood and learn to walk his way.

So Dear, Have a nice Discovery (and don’t forget to post it at mouthshut).
