Although I never liked the batman since my childhood, it’s really the batman begin’s where it all started, the part 1 covers the making of character batman itself, nicely scripted and shot i.e the way he overcomes his fear, and later saving gotham city from being shredded, coming to part 2 the which is the movie in introspection now shows about the characteristics of batman as a dark knight, saving the gotham city from the evil headed joker.
The movie is really about the good Vs evil, and thats all. Needless to say the good always wins over the evil at the end of it. But the fact that we are watching a fantasy story, says we ignore these details and should focus on other aspects of the movie (minus the story) i.e audio visuals, direction, cinematography and rest of it. The movie scores 9/10 in all aspects of it and lives up to the expectations of batman series. Some people keep complaining that they like the original batman movie featuring jack nicholson...i appreaciate the movie was good for its time, but comon I say, you need to break out of that shell and be bit bold & neutral in accpeting the new characters/actors/story/movie making and not by comparing to its predecessors.
Don’t go by nostologia effect.We always feel the old hind movie DON is better than new DON...isn’t it...fair enough I am not creating another controversy here, it simply subjected to individual’s opionin...anyways coming back to the dark knight, the real thud of the movie is heath ledger (aka joker) who had made a mark of his life through this character, man what a evil he can be:-) As I said the story line is simple positive Vs negative fields(matrix style Neo Vs Machine). Batman Vs joker. Batman helping the city for nabbing the criminal, and whereas the opposite the joker aiding the criminals to play a spoilsport, but what you see between such a thin story line is breath taking cinematography...as I say pure entertaining visuals...although I lacked to understand some of the technical details of the batman and hes set of gadgets, the way a single mobile emitting certain type of magnetic field(whatever it is) could jam cut out the entire power line and create a havoc...ok forget it...and am in no mood to understand it too.. The joker persona ... ahhh!!! he will engulf you into his side, by pinning on you negative side of your head. Man if you want be an evil...you better be joker...for the first time...i have to give to the evil..(call it the brilliant work of heath ledger)...and had an option now would like to see evil winning over the good :-) Dare to be joker!
if you haven’t watched this series. go get original prints of batman begin and dark knight, and watch it in that way. You won’t be dissapointed. paisa vasool!
