“Deep End of the Ocean” – PG-13
Michelle Pfeiffer stars as Beth Cappadora in this dramatic film. Beth has it all, a husband, 2 sons and a family business. Beth goes away for her high school reunion and takes her small boys with her. As she is checking in she tells the older son (Cory Buck) to watch after his little brother. He doesn’t and in an instant little Ben is gone.
Treat Williams plays Pat Cappadora. He is a successful business owner and loving father. He just doesn’t understand how Beth could have lost their son. They team up with Detective Candy Bliss (Whoopi Goldberg) to try to locate their son. 9 years later they do.
They have their family back, but then more trouble begins. A family struggle ensues with a lot of guilty feelings. Jonathan Jackson plays older brother Vincent in the later part of the movie. His portrayal of emotions and thinking the kidnapping was his fault was superb. The older Ben was played by Ryan Merriman.
This movie moves you to tears. Tears of happiness and sorrow. It was written by Jacquelyn Mitchard and Stephen Schiff and directed by Ulu Glosberg.
I would highly recommend this movie.
Enjoy!
