I wasn’t really in a good mood when my friend suggested that we watch this new crime thriller and I almost instantly said no coz I wasn’t in a movie watching mood but two words made me change my mind right then ’ Martin Scorsese’ . The fact that I saw the movie 4 times after that explains how awesomely amazing it is. I’ll write very little about the movie coz I don’t want to spoil the fun for others who are yet to see it. It is a crime drama and is a remake of a Hongkong movie ’Internal Affairs’ and though I haven’t seen the original I quite firmly believe that scorsese has surpassed it in every department. For starters the cast chosen is quite a treat. Leo DiCaprio, Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg steal the thunder. Mark Wahlberg hasn’t got a very big role to play but outshines everybody else.Leo DiCaprio has gone a long way from being a lover boy in ’Titanic’ to being an undercover agent which he played to perfection.

The story is about two guys from different walks of life making it to the state police dept. Both of them have diferrent mindsets and work for different ppl.Apparently, Leo DiCaprio is the good guy and Matt Damon the bad one. They live their lives in constant fear of getting caught by the ppl who they are working for because they are in reality working there to outwit and deceive their employers. Frank Costello(Jack Nicholson) is the guy who he cops are after and Billy Costigan(Leonardo DiCaprio) is an undercover agent who manages to get into Costello’s gang.Matt Damon works for Costello and is in the SIU(Special Investigation Unit) , he is Frank’s informant-in-chief. Both guys don’t know what the other does and are in a constant quest to find out about each other. The climax shows a rat running on a railing and that pretty much sums up the movie. Itz all about finding the rat.
